I was just wondering if a mono sushi diet would work? I'm vegan so it would have to be maki and not something like sashimi. Or a houmous/hummus mono diet?

If it has more than one kind of ingredient, like both seaweed and rice, I don't think it would work.

Me too! I don't think a mono sushi diet would worth though, not unless you stuck to literally one type of sushi. 'Sushi' covers a too wide range of things, unfortunately. But I do think it would work if you just suck to eating one thing.

This is what confuses me about mono diets- a lot of them (the popular ones that work) are based on things with more than one ingredient. Like the chocolate diet- well read the list of ingredients on chocolate! I thought that the reason they worked was you only ate one thing- but that one thing is lots of things. Same with hummus, the woman on the five day almond mono was adding seasonings and stuff, and they all seem to have still worked. Super confused.

Sushi is actually great for losing if you can stick to small portions - I'd say give it a bash for a couple of weeks and see. If I could afford it right now I'd love to try!

i would only think it would work because sushi is relatively low calorie and filling.
the whole concept of mono dieting is up in the air for me. :/

in limbo.

You could pick only two (or three depending on the person) kinds that you could eat. Say like Meal 1: One portion nigiri (2pc) Meal 2: One portion maki (6pc) which would likely be >500 cal. And then, you could use miso soup for filler/snacking purposes since it's super easy to digest, basically just protein and has minimal calories! However you figure it out, good luck!

A tummy-filling portion of sushi is pretty darn low in calories. I'm seriously considering investing in some nishiki...

Definitely -- I just today saw a large Scottish man /totally/ full on one rice bowl of Japanese rice with seasonings. So there's hope here!

Not expensive at all actually. I am a poor student. I will be making all my own sushi. I bought a 2kg bag of sushi rice for £2 and got a 100 nori sheets free with it. I get a bag of avocado and a few cucumber from the market. All set for about £6 for a week.
