Hey everyone, so in about 3 months I'll be starting college again. That's when my biggest struggle with food happens. Since I start early I eat breakfast because I need to be alert for my classes. However I need some ideas for food on the go? Nothing that'll take too long, and has protein. Please and thank you :) Oh and calorie amount would be appreciated.

My two ideas for it so far are fruit salad which I can mix and two toasted bread with butter.

Overnight oats! You can make so many varriations. I love making mine with vanila almond milk to add flavor with out adding sugar. About 16-24 hous prior just put oats and milk in a jar and pop it in a fridge. In the morning you can either eat it cold or heat it up and add some fruit on top c:

I always have a protein/vitamin shake when I have school in the morning. Has nutrients and protein to keep me full. The kind I have is 200 calories if you make it with skim milk. You can make it with water, but it's pretty gross. I restrict about 800 cals a day so it fits nicely

If you have a fridge...

Put some light vanilla greek yogurt and fruit in a mason jar and take it with you! So yummy! I had 1/2 cup yogurt and strawberries this morning and it was about 70 calories.

My usual combinations are either a cup of tea with a piece of fruit or a cup of tea with one serving of cereal and non-dairy milk. Afterwards, I drink a liter of water until 1:00 PM.

Instant oats? Chobani kids yogurt also is very low cal/filling (~50-60 calories). Quest bars are really good if you're gonna be on the go, but kinda expensive.

i also need to be alert for classes, so my go-to options are:

- quaker instant oats with 1/2 chopped small banana and cinnamon on top (~150, or you can ditch the banana half and have it for 100)

- 1/2 c raisin bran with 1/2 c almond milk (i think like... 120-130? i haven't had it for a long time but it's so good)

- iogo 0% strawberry yogurt cup if i want something lighter (35)

- if i know i won't be having lunch i sometimes have a microwaved quest bar (200) or a larabar (200) depending on which i have on hand

and no matter what i have i pair it with a cup of black instant coffee (10)

Cabbage and onion "hashbrowns". >35 calories.

I take 3 leaves of cabbage and cut long 1/2 inch to 1 cm strips with 1/4 cup of chopped onions. Sometimes I'll add mushrooms or garlic.

Use a fat free non stick spray and cook each side for 5 min each or until crispy and brown.

I add about 1 to 2 tsp of hot sauce to help with metabolism instead of just salt and pepper.

Hope that helps.

Egg white omelet is everything. Grab 2 to 3 egg whites (17 cal per egg white). Heat a pan and put in 0 calorie cooking spray. Add the egg whites and optional is grated cheese, spinach or other vegetables. I personally like to make 3 egg whites with a side of sliced cucumbers. Not exactly sure about the calories but definitely filling and healthy.

I always make egg white muffin cups! Pour egg whites into a well greased muffin tin (or use silicone baking cups, or muffin liners), add spices, bacon bits, cooked mushrooms, etc. bake at 350 until a toothpick comes out clean!!
