Out of the three jobs I've ever had, two of them were in restaurants.  Actually the one I have now is at a grill and it makes it really hard to restrict.  The food smells so good and I'm there at least five hours a day just watching it be made and trying not to drool over it.  (We have fries, chicken tenders, hot dogs, hamburgers, etc.) I get a half hour mandatory lunch break which includes a free meal.  Do you know how difficult it is to say no to that?  I like my job a lot; the people are great and I get paid enough so I see no reason to leave.  Anyone else work in a restaurant or with food?  How do you avoid the temptation?

I'm also a waitress. Eating food there can't even be an option. That way you don't have any debates about it inside your head.

pack your lunch, force yourself to leave. and for me personally, watching people eat, like really watching them (like the chewed up food rolling around in their mouth, plus the sounds..GAG) is enough to make me not want to eat what they are eating.

this may seem "too easy" or something. but what works for me, is to just refuse food. no matter how hungry or temped i am. i just say no. like im a parent to myself. no, ur not hungry. no, ur not gonna touch that food. and just ride the temptation like a wave. temptation is temporary, and it will pass. it always does

Our new vice GM replaced all of our delicious, fresh baked goods with plastic-looking crap that comes in a box. They don't even have a smell. I'm not touching those

luckily i dont have much energy these days which gives me an excuse for not doing my kitchen chores but before, it was really really hard to resist all temptation and unfortunately i often gave in to them - what helps me now when i am in the kitchen to have some coffee to you know sip on thus keeping my mouth busy without adding only god knows how many calories that is almost impossible to count 

 

Gum didnt work for me but i have heard a lot about how helpful it is maybe its worth  give it a try?

im a waitress, and i just do extra work so i dont have time to eat, but then again i dont really get a break in the first place. if i have to eat i will just have a salad, everywhere has salads. and i get frree drinks so i drink diet coke all day too

Bruh, I feel you, & it's tough. Is there any way that you can make a meal from your work fit into your intake??? I work at a burrito place, & everything there is so good lmao (burritos are my favorite food ahahaha), and as a vegan, I can eat lots of stuff from there :S when I work, I make sure to make that meal the majority of my intake for the day if I can, and I rule out certain things -- only bowls, no beans, chips, etc. I've ruled out guac now too, and I just keep slowly lowering what I eat there ahahaha. It's actually v safe for me bc I know the exact calorie counts lol. I also drink Diet Coke while I'm there 24/7. But I find that eating makes me obsess over it less ahahaha
