it's really sad to see how these people's lives have been destroyed by their weight, but it's also really motivating at the same time. like reverse thinspo.

What like they actually weigh 600lbs? Is that possible? Haven't seen it but reckon it'd be reverse thinspo for me.

around 600lbs yeah. The last one I watched today the woman weighed 598lbs. I can't believe its even possible, but I've read stories and seen docs where people are well above the 600lb mark. Scary af

Its not even completely the desire to be skinny again, but rather the fact that I despise food and everything about it.

Its pretty graphic just fyi. Not just the fat rolls....which is pretty gross imo, but the surgeries are sometimes shown.

No because its like that for me. The fat rolls make me what to puke.

I'm also a medicine major though so surgeries kinda excite the shit outta me.

Yep, some of them weigh even more. I've seen them up to 700lb.

It's a total mindfuck.

I love this show, it's fascinating. I love medical shows and find stories about extreme weight loss interesting (and inspirational!), so this is one of my favourite shows.

I know two people who have had gastric sleeves done. One is very slim and has maintained that for quite a while. The other managed to gain a lot of the weight back, now she's having to get rid of that weight the usual way. She must snack a lot, she's managed to somehow do this without stretching her stomach.

I think it's telling though how when they have to lose weight for the surgery, they somehow can lose weight... I thought "surgery was the ONLY option". It's sick that the medical community will put a person through life threatening surgery when the person JUST showed them they can lose weight. It even shows how after surgery the cravings are still there and they try to cheat. I definitely love to watch just because body abnormalities fascinate me, though. I eat while I watch shows like that 😂

Oh yeah. They get into the 7's. One guy was approaching 1,000. He was an asshole. You want some reverse thinspo? All that clown could manage to do was wake up, shimmy to the end of the bed and pee into a bucket.

He was 800 something when it started but after he was sent home from the hospital to prove he could lose weight on his own, he came back heavier and the doctor estimated he had gained another 100lb.......making him one of the heaviest men in the world at the time or, as Dr Now told him, "This is not a good thing to be."  LOL!!  LOVE that guy.  http://www.monstersa...chance-preview/

Some days I feel really bad for them but most of the time im just angry because they're loved ones have done this to them. They've let it go on for so long and never said anything or tried to do anything when clearly their loved one was drowning.

It is however, and I know I'm a shitty person, really amazing reverse thinspo. Going to start a binge? My 600lb life and boom my food cravings are gone. Most of the time.

My first instinct is to get really pissed off at the people on that show, enablers included. As an anorexic, obviously I have issues - obesity triggers disdain and confusion for me. Plus I have a low tolerance for people who are their own problems.

But after a minute or two of seeing what they go through just to survive their days, I feel horrible for them. I think about how miserable I was when I was at my HW and my BMI was 21. So I just can't imagine how much mental fortitude it must take them to keep going and seek help. My heart just goes out to them and I just want them to get better and know some happiness.

I love that show bc I enjoy seeing these people bettering themselves, going to therapy and knocking out the problems that got them as large as they were in the first place.
They may be 500-600 lbs, but when I watch it, I relate to a lot of what some of them say about ther eating habits/issues. I may be on the opposite end of the spectrum, but I feel some of the pain they go through. I wish them all the best, honestly. I've never used it to motivate myself or workout or stop binges though, I'm not about doing stuff like that.

It's my Reverse thinspo. I don't feel bad for them. I also think their families should be put on diets too. They are also usually really fat.

I used to watch this whole I eat. Made me feel less grossed out by myself, because even though my mind was constantly telling me that I was fat, I knew I was nowhere near as fat as them, and it was comforting knowing that.
