I'm getting red splotches on my skin (mostly my neck right now, but there's some on my legs and idk where else) and my throat feels tight as well as scratchy (not so bad that I can't breathe, I don't think I'm in serious danger atm) and I generally feel dizzy and itchy and basically it all sounds like an allergic reaction... but I haven't been exposed to anything I know I'm allergic to? And I haven't done anything strange today?

Idk I guess I'm asking if it could be something else or if I need to be concerned since google has been zero help

skin issues could be detergent or any scent really...sometimes a lotion with a scent (even the unscented ones) cause a similar breakout for me.

scratchy throat for me is usually from dairy or i'm sick lol

you should call your doctor, tho, cuz i can't imagine anyone being of any real help on here. :)

I haven't used any new detergents, perfumes, or lotions and I don't have any reactions to dairy or anything like that which is why I'm confused

thanks for trying to help, though

I second "doctor" here.

Those could also be stress reactions. Have you had something bothering you a lot, lately? I get red blemishes on my skin and my heart gets stupid fast when I get too stressed.

allergies can develop suddenly, even severe ones.

if you have trouble breathing, doctors office.

or at least have someone be around to watch you in case it gets worse.

I'm stressed 24/7 especially recently, but I didn't think stress could have that big of an effect?

If it gets worse or doesn't get better after a while I'll see if I can either go home to rest or go the doctor

I am in a very crowded room right now, so I suppose that part isn't a concern

That makes sense and that's normally how I am.

Dude, stress destroys bodies. It's bad. Especially if you're stressed all the time (Like me!! Yay!) then it can start to show in some pretty strange ways.

Just keep an eye on it and yeah, if it gets worse just head over to a doctor.

It seems to pretty much be staying the same at this point so it probably is just the stress thing, but I'll keep an eye out for anything new or weird

So thank you for your help! Even though now I feel incredibly dumb for having a physical reaction to something as mundane as stress

You're not dumb!

Stress has given me things like flu symptoms before.

Something dumb would be if you had such a bad caffeine addiction that when you stopped drinking it cold turkey, the next three days you felt like you had a massive stomach virus that shut you completely down.

Not that I'm saying that from experience or anything.

Nope.

Not at all.

Just an example of something silly.

Yeah.

Yeah.

The caffeine thing has happened to me- I stopped drinking it cold turkey for a few days, and I was a total wreck and physically felt sick and had the WORST migraine. As soon as I drank it again I was fine <_<

Yeah, I gave up caffeine for my vocal health before a recital. I tried to go three months without it and ended up completely destroyed for days. It wasn't until a year later that we realized the incident was due to cutting out caffeine. I felt like an absolute idiot.

Can you take Benadryl? If so, I'd recommend taking one. I get random allergic reactions in public sometimes and it's the only thing that seems to help. Hope you feel better :)

It completely slipped my mind, but I do have some with me in my purse! I'd rather not take any just in case it makes me drowsy, but if it gets worse I will.

Lol, I switched to caffeine pills when my coffee intake was affecting my work and making me feel awkward for needing to pee all the time. Me function on no caffeine? Now that's just a joke lol

I was in a similar situation. I did allergy testing and found out I had mild allergies to a couple things. But the bigger issue was a histamine intolerance. That might be something to look in to.
Initially, my heart rate would increase, but it was because I was having panic attacks, because I didn't know what was happening with my body.

I never figured out what caused it, and it hasn't happened since I made the post
