Does this difference exist in your opinion ?

I think a binge is more being out of control whereas just eating a lot is more of a casual thing.

Eating a lot is when you consciously eat a large portion of food.

Binging is when you feel like you have no control and you're eating without thinking.

Overeating is eating more than you need.

Binging is eating out of control, insane amounts, no regard to discomfort/consequences, zoning out, extreme levels of guilt.

Bingeing is eating a lot with no control over it, eating a lot is just eating a big amount of food with the ability to stop any time you wanted to

If you're eating, and start feeling uncomfortably full but can't stop eating, you're bingeing

Binging is when you feel like you can't control yourself. Eating a lot, is just that. You overate, maybe you finished your meal at a restaurant even though you were full because it tasted good or maybe you had an extra chocolate bar at school because you felt hungry or were just craving something sweet.

I don't think you can put a number on a binge vs. overeating because the numbers could be comparable in some circumstances. It's all about the mentality (at least imo)
