I am a feminist but I try really hard not to be the sort of "brash, man hating, cry bully, trans exclusionary, radical feminist" that only ever seems to attract negative attention and reinforce the increasingly negative view of feminism in our current world. Essentially I'm not the type of feminist to scream in outrage when a guy holds the door open for me,and I'm sure as hell not the type of feminist who holds opinions like "trans women aren't really women they only want to infiltrate women's safe spaces. I wish that feminists like myself would decide not to spend 45 minutes ranting about stupid and largely inconsequential things like "oh my god this guy on the public transport was spreading his legs super wide and trying to subconsciously prove his dominance" and instead spend 45 minutes filming an educational video with accurate subtitles in many different languages ranting about the prevalence and barbarity of forced genital mutilation and the massive danger it poses for women as well as maybe providing a link to a reputable charity that goes to countries where this happens regularly and uses its funds to help the victims of this and try to stop it happening. I think that feminism is for everyone and and the resulting equality will only do good things for everyone.

I don't usually say outright on the internet that I'm a feminist but I do try my best to raise awareness to causes that feminists could really help by championing, which obviously leads to some nasty comments and some conflicts but I tend to brush off the nasty comments and if the conflicts raise good points I tend to try and talk it out and allow myself to challenge my world view so that I don't get stuck in an echo chamber of agreement with my opinions.

how is racism in the west systemic... pretty sure that systemic racism is racism that is implemented by laws or other such things.

& i am seriously so sick of everyone bringing up the "wage gap" it is not a wage gap. it is an earnings gap. if you do the tiniest bit of research you would know that. women earn less on average because work less and pick majors that usually pay less most of the time.

for example, there are more men in engineering jobs which pay a lot and there are more female social workers and that pays not nearly as much.

it's not as if women are forced into those careers. they choose it.

and why is masculinity a bad? jfc let men be men. femininity & masculinity are not negative attributes.

Feminism is about the advocacy of women's rights on the basis of equality also. it is and always has been about women rights for the most part.

No, a wage gap is when there's a man that's a doctor and a woman that's a doctor and the male doctor gets paid more. Obviously, a social worker isn’t going to have the same pay as an engineer. But then again a woman going into those careers would not be taken seriously. I’m very shy, and introverted so I always applied to jobs that required me to be physical because I just much rather do something physical than talking to people and selling stuff. But of course, I was never even considered for those jobs, the only jobs I got were retail, waitressing, or hostess jobs.

Listen, wage gaps are really not one of the more important issues so I don’t really want to get into it much. All I know is that men get taken way more seriously when it comes to jobs. Especially jobs in the art world. Like the film industry for example. There are very little women directors and producers, but no shortage of them with acting gigs or being make-up artists. Women are usually not taken seriously and that comes from the belief, that’s still not dead at all, that men are superior. I mean look at the fashion industry, all the biggest designers are males when fashion is meant to be ‘for girls.’

About the wage gap guys.

The wage gap doesn't exist because men and women choose different jobs, the wage gap refers to men being paid more than women while they're doing THE SAME EXACT JOB how don't you get this lmfao

I was just giving an example. Also if women were not more oppressed then 'feminism' wouldn't even be a thing. The woman's suffrage movement wouldn't have been a thing. So great we've made progress in Western society (whoopie!) But there are still women all over the world being disgustingly oppressed as we speak (you should see some documentaries on dowries in India). How can't I be a feminist? Everyone deserves to be treated fairly and equally, and that’s what feminism is about: equality.

And what I really love about feminism is that it’s not even all about women. Feminists have to be the only group I found that actually take female pedophiles and male rape victims into account. They’re the only group that disregards the notion of ‘masculinity’ implicated on men. Feminists touch on issues that are very important (LGBT, systematic racism, pay gaps)! I cannot understand how a smart and progressive person can disagree with a system that is so crucial to a progressing society.

Whatever, that’s my take on it anyway.

I bet that slaves wheren't opressed few centuries ago, as they wheren't revolting, mhm?

It's not because some people choiced to don't spend their life complaining and trying to act like a poor victim that they're happy and have no problems. They just know that their personal problems are less important the the will of society. Males speak less (studies have been done who show it), express less their feeling, etc... So, they're less likley to tell their problem to everyone like a lot of women are doing

And you, you haven't read my previous posts...

I spoke about how feminist here want these mentalities from 3th world to enter here in Europe, and how they're very dangerous for western women because of that.

Depend the feminist you're speaking about. Feminist who reffuse a trans because he's not a real women, it exist. I also read about feminist who want to make men dispear. Feminist are as gross as any other group, stop your delirium

Good for you

Well, no. Here in France, only the women who have kids are less payed. Why? Because they have to stop their carreer when they have kids, they are more likely to have to care about them, etc... So, it's not sexism, it's just that they have less time to work than men due, so, they end to earn less... But, let's not worry, Marine Le Pen will fix it  :)

She want to pay housewifes, which will end to make women and men having a more similar salary.

Happy?

I'm sorry you feel that way. Well, I personally never met a feminist that refused a transwoman so I don't know, but I don't doubt there are cos people are horrible. Also, the whole notion of men disappearing is ridiculous. I doubt a smart woman would be saying that, for she would know that the disappearance of men would lead to the end of the world. I don't know why anyone would want that lol? ALSO, it would never happen because men have way more power in ALL societies (obviously). Anyway, I'll just stop now, but thank you for not attacking me personally that was very mature of you. Have a good day everyone!

Last thing, I saw this and thought it was interesting. To all the people complaining that there's already equality in western society consider this image. Men and women aren't the same but they deserve the same respect and to be treated fairly. ALWAYS. Women are scientifically proven to be smarter than males but are still not even considered for most mentally demanding jobs. Men make up most of the writers, the intellects, the scientists, the leaders. It's just not fair. It's just proof that the mentality that women are inferior is still engraved in the way most people in society think. Well that's it I'm off of this joint.

Don't misunderstood me, I preview to vote for her only in the 1st round because I'm tired about the 2 traditional parties who ain't doing anything that we have here and I would prefer have the FN in opposition than another useless party

And in the case she was elected (which is pretty impossible), she won't be able to do a lot of things (she can't leave the EU without a referendum, and, the french are against it. She will have to do that also to resive the constitution. To leave the Euro, etc...) she won't be able to do 1/2 of her program

My family will still leave anyway because of personal reasons

Where did you found women are more intelligent?...  Men are in higher percents one genius (IQ upper 145) than women, so, not really. Even though women tend to succeed more often in studies than men do. We just have a different cleverness; women aren't superior, men aren't either.

Then, women already have accomodations.

well no men and women are equal in general intelligence but women are better with emotional intelligence. So because of that, women are 'smarter.' But with that said, if they're equal in intelligence or slightly above their male counterparts then why aren't they taken as seriously? That's all I meant.

And no, I think we're more on the left picture tbh.

fair+isn%27t+equal.jpg

this is actually untrue.

men are both smarter and dumber than women as their intelligence levels have much greater variance and this is why there are more male inventors and men with nobel prizes. women's intelligence is much more concentrated in an "average" range. basically this means that most women have around the same IQ but men's IQ has an extremely varied range
cea2666c3ecf76ffa3ebbdc872072c05.jpg
helps to explain why more men are engineers as well as plumbers and more women are nurses or teachers

Well, it's differents intelligences, as we said. I won't take it like a compliment, as my emotional intelligence ain't high, I don't understand people ahah. But usually, intelligence is mesured with IQ, not EI (thanks for me, or my pseudo would be a bit too much accurate lol) and male tend to have an IQ quite similar to women's, except that, as I said, the very huge majority of genius (IQ upper 145, which is very rare) are men.

Though, you can't only use IQ to mesure intelligence, it's true. Some people who did great things have been found a tiny IQ, around 100 (Roland Moreno for exemple)

Well, all that is pretty subjective. I personnaly feel like I often have a special treatment (in the nice way) by men due to my gender
