Hi All,

Please enjoy another HSGD thread! Because we don't have enough already...

But I am starting HSGD today and I wanted to make an accountability thread for myself.

 

Anyone is welcome to join or chime in!

 

I am starting today, May 18th.

I am following this plan (with the typical HSGD unlimited Fruit and Veg and 30 minutes of cardio 3x week).

I might give myself extra cals for exercise but not 100% of cals burned...

So Day 1 is 900 cal- which won't be so hard. We're having a fucking blizzard in May so I'm not leaving the house- not even to go to the gym... 

I need to clean my house anyway.

 

Its noon and I'm at 260 cal and I'll be good for a few hours. I'm saving most of my cals for dinner w/ my SO

Well someone decided we were having pasta for dinner last night. I'm already in trouble for refusing dinner all week and I had to eat it.

My total for yesterday was more like 1200. Oops.

 

At least the weather is slightly better today and I can go to the gym and burn off a bunch of extra cals. I will burn an extra 300 cals on top of my regular workout.

Hey! I want to join you tomorrow if that's okay! This diet is basically the kind of calories I try to stick to anyway and I think the unlimited fruit thing will stop me from binging (like I have done today  -_-)

The fruit and veg thing is also great because I'm always trying to push myself to eat more of it and this really helps! Usually I buy it and then let it rot if it won't fit into my cals or if I'm fasting. This is so much better for me!

So far today I am already at 600/800 but I went to the gym and burned off 700 cals and then an extra 300 cals to make up for yesterday. 

So I'm going to allow myself an extra 400 cals if I really need it.

The fruit and veg thing is also great because I'm always trying to push myself to eat more of it and this really helps! Usually I buy it and then let it rot if it won't fit into my cals or if I'm fasting. This is so much better for me!

 

Yay! I need to eat more of it too, especially since I actually love a lot of it and I just tend to fill up my regular calorie limits with carbs, honestly. I hate that I just eat whatever as long as it's under a certain calorie amount. I'll just start with tomorrow as day one and see how I go! I'm pretty sure I have to eat pizza for dinner tomorrow so I'll just save all my calories for the evening and go with some fruits before that. And I'll get in some exercise for sure! I'm excited to start. I also think I'll challenge myself to not weigh myself every day for this.

At 1150 so I'm done eating for the day (except for some cucumber and watermelon if I need it)

For example, I'm adding 50% of exercise cals burned to my daily intake because adding 100% kinda defeats the purpose of exercise but I can't survive on 800 cals if I'm burning over 1,000 at the gym alone.

 

I'm also giving myself the chance to make up for fuck ups from the previous day by exercising extra. 

For example on day 1 I did not go to the gym and I ate an extra 300 having dinner with my SO. So today I went to the gym and burned that 300 plus another 700. I allowed myself an extra 350 cals today because 700/2=350. I hope that makes some sense...

Thank you. That helps a lot. I think using half of the calories burned is a really good idea.

Okay! My starting weight is 131.8 (because of yesterday's binge, I thought it'd be higher tbh) and I am so ready to do this from today. Starting out with fruit. I'll go walking too because I don't have a gym membership and it's raining a bit much to run  :lol: because I don't really exercise a lot I just won't be giving myself any more calories, I don't know how many I burn off anyway.

So I gained 2.2 lbs this week for no apparent reason. So I will be joining you all on the HSGD starting today with 1100 calories.
SW: 120.8
First GW: 117.8

Day 3: definitely going to spend half my day at the gym to earn some extra cals because its Saturday and I'm going out with friends.

Yesterday was a success! I went freakin exercise crazy and burned well over 1,000 cals. I told myself I could have an extra 500 on top of my 900 but I ended up eating closer to 1300 so 1,000 to spare!

 

According to my fitbit I burned over 3,000 cals yesterday so even though I've been eating a lot of fruit and veg cals too I should still see some good results at the end of the week.

Plus my body is adjusting to the plan a little bit and I wasn't crazy hungry last night.

 

Today my total is 1100+exercise cals. The plan is to go swim at least a mile, do some core exercises, and then walk at least 6 miles.

oops I mean 1,000+exercise cals.

 

I'm not going to count the cals I burned swimming because 

 

1) I wasn't wearing my fitbit in the pool and if its not on my fitbit it didn't actually happen  :P

 

2) I've eaten 3 bananas today and that defeats the purpose of unlimited fruit and veg (300 fuckin cal!). So I had to decide between ignoring my swimming cals and counting my banana cals, I figure I burned about 600 in the pool between swimming laps and doing exercises so 1/2 of swimming cals=300 bananas anyway. I'll call it even!
