What's the best low calorie vegetables and fruit? I eat celery, zucchini, and a little spinach but what are your favorites? Also does anyone know if fresh, canned, or bagged veggies are lower in cals?

The lowest in cal is almost always fresh. No added sodium or anything, which is the best. I like grapes a lot, green seedless have 3 calories a pop generally, and I also eat apples a lot.

It depends on what we have around the house. Celery and lettuce are also both REALLY good for filling you up without much going on calorie wise.

Broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, sugar snap peas, brussel sprouts...I have this thing about fresh veggies. I cannot eat fresh veggies ,they have to be frozen and I have to measure everything otherwise I feel out of control. Canned veggies are iffie to me. :P no corn EVER.

Fresh is best because it has the most nutrients and no additives! I heard second best is frozen and lastly canned.

My favorites are lettuce, spinach, celery, and cucumbers. Fruit is apples for sure!

i was just wondering...

everyone eats apple!!

but i find them to be very high in calories!

like a small one has 80

and a large one has more than 100 calories!!

i guess its just a personal outlook. for me i prefer other fruits like oranges, peach, strawberries!!  :P

for veggies... definitely spinach!! omg they are like a miracle!!  i get the frozen ones... 27 calories for 100 grams!!

Usually the only frozen stuff I buy is berries and broccoli, lasts much longer for just me eating them. And I use the frozen blackberries as "ice cubes" in my iced tea, super good. Generally I just buy whatever fruits or veggies are on sale/in season. I don't count calories for them since they're packed with nutrients.

broccoli is my current favourite food - i've had it every night for the last couple of days :D

veg wise: broccoli, runner beans, peas, sugarsnap peas, carrots, celery, spinach, cabbage, brussels sprouts

fruits: i dont eat very many cause i find them to be too high in cals for what you get - frozen grapes and grapefruit is basically the only fruit i'll eat on a daily basis.

i read somewhere that unless your fresh veg is really really fresh, frozen can actually be better for you in terms of nutrients because theyre flash frozen as soon as theyre picked, so they dont have time to degrade, in comparison to fresh ones sitting out in the shops. i've never trusted canned things tbh, expect for things like mushy peas and sweetcorn but i dont really eat them any more.

The lowest calorie? Lettuce - 100 g = 18 kcal.
And favourite: Carrots - 100 g = 34 kcal.

(Although I hate counting cals.)
