Diet Shakes and Meal Replacements

Start: 16.01.2017

End: ?

[I'll then plan how to go on, based on the result]

Rules I set myself:

(I'll probably adapt the rules if my body reacts horribly to this but lets see how long this works)

First week:

  • Three meals a day, all replaced with a diet shake (~750cals a day)
  • Adding flavour to the shake (e.g. coffee, cinnamon etc.) is allowed
  • Other allowed drinks: unsweetened tea, broth, black coffee, diet soda

Now:

  • Most meals are replaced, if eating something else it should be under 300cal
  • Daily intake shall not be over 1200cals
  • Take as many walks as possible

Daily weigh in!

height: 5'3''

HW: 163lbs

LW: 90lbs

SW: 103,8lbs (47,1kg)

GW1: Get under 100lbs

GW2: 99,2lbs (45kg)

GW3: 92,6lbs (42kg)

UGW: 86lbs (39kg)

When down her weedy trophies and herself
Fell in the weeping brook. Her clothes spread wide;
And, mermaid-like, awhile they bore her up:
Which time she chanted snatches of old tunes;
As one incapable of her own distress,
Or like a creature native and indued
Unto that element: but long it could not be
Till that her garments, heavy with their drink,
Pull’d the poor wretch from her melodious lay
To muddy death.

Oooh, I did this before and I've been wanting to get back into it.

I'm game~ I still have some protein shake left over so I might as well use it.

Soo today I had kind of a "metabolism boost day" with 200g of chocolate in addition to the 1000-1200cals I usually eat. Tomorrow will be 1200-1500cal and then the diet starts! So excited. Dunno about my weight atm, will post it on monday.

"Nutri Slim Diet", vegan ones. Which ones did you use?

weeeh, I love those. I used up an entire tub of the vegan chocolate meal replacement and am currently finishing the vegan hazelnut shake. Try microwaving them

Now I am even more excited *__* I got the vanilla one bc I can play around with the flavour a bit better. Did you put oil in it as the package says? Is there a difference if you don't use it?

nope, never do. you should to make it more nutritionally complete if you replace all your meals with them but it feels like a waste of calories. On healthy mindset days I did put about 4 grams of coconut oil (30-40 cal) into my morning coffee to make up for it and it really helped with satiety and dry skin.

Managed to reach my calorie goal of 1200 calories today, so excited for tomorrow.

I have never done a diet like this (not even some other mono) so I am pretty clueless about how it will turn out.

I am also a bit scared about weighing myself tomorrow morning but I guess it has to be done.

See you then!

DAY ONE

Weighed in at 47,1kg (103,8lbs) this morning, which is worse than hoped but better than feared.

The day went better than expected, I had my shakes at 9am, 1pm and 7pm and had looots of diet coke, cold tea and vegetable broth to keep me from eating.

I also bought some meal replacement bars bc I though they'd be easier to manage at school, they basically function in the same way as the shakes do.

I will go to sleep now, hope tomorrow goes just as well!!

GUYS.

I'll update again in the evening but I just weighed in at 46,4kg (102,3lbs)!!!! It seems to work already!!!

I was stuck at a plateau of 46,8kg before I did the diet and I finally broke it, so happy!!!!

Even though... [TMI following!]

Spoiler

I also did not purge yesterday, for the first time in MONTHS!!

This can only get better. Feeling really energized and motivated right now <3

I am thinking of adding one meal of protein and veggies from day 4 on maybe?

I thought it might be a good idea so my metabolism does not die :/ What do you think??

DAY TWO (-700g)

Had my shakes at 11am, 4pm and 8pm today.

I felt kinda nauseous and weird between the first and the second one, that happened yesterday as well but not as much as today.

If it keeps getting worse, I'll probably replace one of the shakes for a 250cal meal (maybe breakfast or dinner, but not lunch.)

Weigh in tomorrow morning again <3

DAY 3 (+ 100g)

Weighed in at 46,5kg this morning so it seems like I have "gained" 100grams.

I guess this is water retention, right? I don't think it's possible to actually gain from 750cals when you maintained with 1200-1500cals before.

Might be from the veggie broth so I'll try having less of that.

The only thing I don't like about these shakes is that they turn a grey-ish colour after some time. Ughh...

But they're quite tasty.

Stocked up on diet soda yesterday and got many different flavours, luckily they also don't make me binge (I don't have ANY binge food like sweets in the house anyway).

Also, I just bodychecked (yay for HUGE mirrors on the doors of my closet!!! <3) and grossed the shit outta myself so today should be going well.

---

Had two shakes and one mealrep-bar today, which has 50 calories less than the shakes so I "cheated" and had a bit of milk with my coffee. It seems like my body is getting used to the lower and liquid intake, no dizziness today.

Also had no veggie broth today, hope that helped with the water retention. Tips are always welcome!

Try Bone broth! If you're consuming stock/broth already. Bone broth is sooooo good for you. Also you didn't say but if you aren't already maybe add in a multivitamin/mineral supplement. Oh and maybe an omega supplement if you aren't adding the oil/fat? Lol I love a good liquid diet! Good luck babe!

Thanks for the tips! I already have a multivitamin, and I decided to add the fat just for safety ^^

DAY 4 (-400g)

So as I weighed in this morning (46,1kg) I noticed that I already lost one kilo, which is great!

Unfortunately I forgot about a doctors appointment tomorrow, he will probably weigh me.

So I had "real" dinner (which was exactly as much cals as the shake) just to make sure I have the food weight

and then waterload tomorrow.

So I had a shake, a mealrep-bar (school) and a f*ckton of veggies today, 750cals in total again.

Oh and an aweful lot of diet coke.

25-01-17 (-200g)

I am back!

Terribly sorry for not posting, I was in a very, very bad mental state regarding anxieties and depression so I had no energy at all to do anything. I kept on with the diet loosely, with the rules I have put under "now" in the first post.

I weighed in today!!

45.9kg -> 101.2lbs -> BMI=17.5

You know you have an ED when you are freaking out from happiness about being back at an anorexic weight.

So motivated rn. Having my breakfast shake, let's see how this day goes!

---

Had 2 shakes, 1 protein bar and some soy yogurt, so I should be around 900calories today!
