Wishing you all strength

I feel so fortunate to have discovered this community. The support you all express for one another is really inspirational. I have struggled for many years with anxiety issues, including being treated for OCD. I lost a lot of weight over the past few years, and even though my doctors and family have been concerned about it, I've been able to deflect their questions (I am a health care worker myself, so I know the "right" things to say to get them off my case). I have found it really empowering to see the numbers dropping, it's an addictive feeling.
Sometimes I eat just to keep up a normal outward image, and without fail, it pacifies those around me. Ironic, isn't it? Because as everyone here already knows, it's not really about food, but about feeling in control, and self-acceptance. And forcing down a muffin is not going to make everything okay. I wonder also how people think they are going to help me "love myself as I am" if they are constantly trying to "fix" me and change me.
Anyway, it's nice to have a place where people don't judge.

Hi Lyra! Welcome to the community, I hope you like it here. I'm pretty new too, but I agree that it's great to have a place where like-minded people are that are definitely not judging you for who you are
