Took some doing to find someplace online that I could actually buy some real thyroid hormone and not some BS thyroid complex, but I managed it on nutri-med.

90 day supply of 130 mg desiccated pig thyroid, super excited to try it. Gonna try to super charge my metabolism, shooting for 50% increase to maximize weight and fat loss.

Good luck with the results! Was looking at buying it to ship to Canada but everything I've seen shows it gets stopped at the boarder. Easy to get ephedrine, hard to get real thyroid.

Ironically, ephedrine is probably worse for you;)

Anyway, have only taken 1 thus far but I have noticed my appetite is already increased and my ketosis has ratcheted up to a whole new level. Prior to this I didn't have any of the traditional ketosis symptoms other than appetite suppression but now the top of my tongue feels dry/tastes weird and my pee has definitely started to smell sweet.

I am REALLY looking forward to weighing in tomorrow and seeing whether or not it affects how much weight I've lost. Then again it will take a long time to build up in my system and I have been taking a boat load of caffeine so it might just be a lot of water weight.

Still, feeling great, very optimistic and glad to have the chance to try it.

i should probably just look this up but the thyroid hormone increases your appetite?

and what is it usually used for?

i have a hypoactive thyroid myself so i'm just wondering if that's what its produced for.

Thyroid hormone is the hormone that directly controls your metabolism. It travels into your nucleus in your cells and increases the number of sodium/potassium ATP pumps which releases heat.

Its used for people with hypothyroid, (too little blood thyroid hormone levels).

It used to be used for weight loss but it can have nasty side effects because technically you're inducing hyperthyroidism which isn't healthy. Its not a long term solution but then again neither is fasting and once I reach my goal weight I'll stop.

i dont have a hyperactive thyroid, that would be wonderful.

i do have a hypoactive thyroid, so it sounds like this would be perfect for me.

i saw in another thread that your wife works at a pharmacy, is it by prescription only?

There are 5 parts to what your thyroid puts out. 2 of them are by prescription only. Taking them when you do not need them will mess up your thyroid and you will end up on medication for the rest of your life. The other 3 you can get from a supplement. If your thyroid is running just a little slow, they will stimulate it into making more of the other 2. The way you know your thyroid isn't working well is (this is crazy put totally true) if your thyroid isn't right you will not grow hair on your toes. (I know, but I am totally serious) It is a simple blood test that any weight loss clinic can do. It only costs like 30 bucks for the test and if yours isn't right, that will but you on a prescription for it. If you just want to try the supplement, I don't know of there is any potential for long term harm. The 3 parts that are in it are not controlled. http://www.vitaminsh...03#.UbvE_Zx-7rM

Usually the vitamin shoppe has it on shelf.

i'm not unsure as to whether or not i have a hypoactive thyroid..

it runs in my family and i was diagnosed when i was 10 and was on medication through my early teen years until i had no health insurance

plus there are no endocrinologists in my area, making it difficult to get the right care

considering my last doctor nonchalantly said "oh well your levels are okay, so we won't put you back on your synthroid meds"

even though my endocrinologist from childhood told me i would need the medication for my entire life

i'm no newbie to the functions and dysfunctions of  the human thyroid

i've just never actually heard of the usage of a pork thyroid in the human body, is all.

thank you for the info though! i'm going to check out the link since i'm not currently on any medications that i should be on.
