it such a tempting thought...

I wanted to buy it so bad after I watched a House episode on it (even though the girl needed a heart transplant because of it). I couldn't find it anywhere. If it is banned medically (even when its only intended to be used in one-time emergency situations), its probably not worth it and can hurt you a lot...

Your body often builds a tolerance to emetics. It may work well the first time, but each time it gets progressivly less effective until it stops working all together. For salt water it only took about 5 times until it stopped working completely and I kept everything down.
The side affects were hell, migraine, dizziness, sweating, spasms, diarrhea, bloating, cramps.

It isn't worth it at all.

Isn't Ipecac not on store shelves anymore anyways?

I've heard mixed rumors about that but you can definitely buy it on amazon

The uncontrollable violate spewing that happens from Ipecac can only be compared to things from horror movies.

Idk. I'm extremely good at finding things on Amazon that are technically illegal in most states, I've never ran across any legit ipecac on Amazon though and I've spent some time doing it. EBay does have some, but it's from an old poison kit and the syrup has lost its abilities by now.
If I really wanted to I could find it, but, definitely only going to when i feel like killing myself.

I was given ipecac after one of my suicide attempts. It made me want to die even more, and I was convinced that I would die - from the ipecac, not the OD.

Aside from the uncontrollable vomiting, it felt like my body was literally burning from the inside out. As though I ingested straight battery acid that was lit on fire with every lurch of my stomach.

I couldn't move or think for hours, and I was trying to puke long after my stomach had emptied.

Please do not use ipecac to purge.
I am leaving MPA because it sold out. You can find me on the sites where the admins actually care about their members.

What's the source of these facts?

http://m.choosehelp....ly-purging.html

https://www.drugs.co...de-effects.html

https://www.drugs.co...de-effects.html

Plus stories from other users, and my own basic background knowledge.

EDIT: Here are a few more (These are a few that I found just now, and were not included in the sources for the original post)

http://people.com/ar...s-vol-23-no-19/

http://www.poison.org/articles/ipecac

In reference to non-ipecac emetics (i.e. salt water or mustard):

"Sometimes, these remedies did cause vomiting. But they often caused problems of their own. For example, too much salt caused sodium poisoning, seizures and even death. Gagging someone often caused throat bleeding and swelling. Also, these home remedies were never reliable enough to be used to treat poisoning. And complicated charts about what remedy went with what poisoning were confusing."

Thank you so so so much for this info! I almost went out and bought ipecac because I can't self-induce vomiting and now I know that I really, really shouldn't.

It either won't work (but will still build up in your system)
Or work to it's full effect and be just as dangerous.
