They should have a 50+ forum.  I hate seeing age, looking in the mirror.  Noticing things.  Yes, still feel 30.  At least I weight less than middle school if that counts for something?  Too many worries about healthcare and on onset of retirement.  Not that I can afford to retire, but what happens when you are too old to work if that is possible?

I turned 50 recently. It doesn't bother me, I still feel like I'm in my early 30s.

I want to be thin because it makes me happy and it's how I feel the most comfortable with myself. Perimenopause and menopause has made it more of a challenge, for sure.

Not sure if I've posted already on this but I've just turned 56 a few weeks ago, had my ed for about 43 years now and i'm still not even underweight. How pathetic is that?

I have no idea what the exact motivation is that brings all of us here but do know it is widely varied.  I pass judgement on no one.  Each person has their own story to tell and experiences that justify their situation.  Peace to all and may you find your tomorrow better than today.

Wow, thats rude and full of assumptions! I think most of the younger people on MPA are not that bad, thankfully.

Hi, I just joined the site.  I was a member of quite a few of the Ana sites in the early 2000's.  Must say it feels good to know there is still an active site and I found it!  I am 51.  Been living this life for over 34 yrs.

I love this. Nice to see I am not the only person that is older that struggles with weight.

I have been 128lbs for weeks now and I am so upset.  I have been restricting calories for 6 weeks and have lost only 11 pounds.

I was hoping to be 120 by halloween but thats not going to happen dang it.

I eat between 300 to 600 cals a day.

Any advice???

11 pounds in six weeks is good! When you do the maths it comes out in your favour - it's not easy to lose nearly 2lb a week.

Yeh I get that it sucks to have to work for your goals an eighth of an inch at a time, but it's realistic.

I've lost 9 pounds in six or seven weeks, and I'm quite pleased with it.

This stuff never goes away no matter what age we are. I have a “mental obsession “ with food, weight, exercise. This has been part of who I am since I was a child. Even my husband the other day said to me “you have food issues”. Otherwise stating the obvious. Thin is never enough and in my own eyes I am always overweight. Yes, I am 58 and still on MPA too!

I’ll be 50 soon...I tell myself it’s the beginning of the second half of my life...and it’s gong to be better this time around...if I could just....be a normal food eating person.
7-2-19 I’m at 117, I hope to get my implants removed which will take another 8 lbs. off of me. I actually weighed them.

That's a good aim, but it's also possible to have quality of life even if you can't get rid of the ED.  If I was to wait for the ED to be gone before feeling better about myself and life it might never happen, so instead I try to have the best life I can within my limitations, and most of the time it works out well.
