Maybe not merging all of the mentioned threads, but the ones about Eugenia..
Why do we need so many threads about her?! Especially when they all say the same thing.

You can find me on EDC as Fluffypitspatrick
(I will be responsive to messages on MPA or on Kik 82111093)

I think that is a very good idea! When I made this post I never thought anyone would pin it or else, but I wanted it to be some unofficial ultimate thread for those searching for tips, answers, etc. (MPA search is quite messy ATM).I had no idea there were that many duplicates Jesus Christ.
If we physically merge all the threads the content of all but one OP would be lost, and all comments would be put in chronological order and wouldn't make sense. We could turn this into an ED FAQ thread though?

I am just impressed OP did this without exploding.
I am predicting you'll add a "help why am I gaining on X calories" section.
With school starting those are gonna crop up.

Personally, I would hate to see an mpa where every topic has an owner. One of the fun things about this place is posting your own thread and receiving feedback. It's more personalized and meaningful. Idk. I guess a good idea would be to inform new members of (and encourage) their option to search for topics, but not ban reposting
Yeah I kind of have to agree with this.
I've been on forums where it WAS against the rules to make duplicate threads of the same subject and it sucked, because if you did want to make your own thread because you had a difference than the original one it would get deleted and you'd be directed to the singular thread. And if you posted in the singular thread, your post was drowned out by the millions of others trying to be heard.
That being said, I've been here for years and I've seen all the seasonal influxes, and usually there's more threads complaining about the influx than there are the actual threads. Can we merge those?

I'm honestly surprised you managed to find so many topics about obscure subjects like Eugenia Cooney and To The Bone!
I'm gonna print out the link for the thread and tattoo it on my fuckin forehead.
Is there a way to make your forehead clickable?

it's really, really easy. you just have to google search it and include 'mpa' in your search. i've always searched for stuff this way and was genuinely surprised to see that much. and there's more to it, actually. i only posted a half of each/posts that got more replies.

OP, bless you for having the patience and follow-through to do this!!!
Not trying to sound rude, but who the hell cares. You don't have to click on or read any threads so I don't understand the issue. Most people don't know better anyways, it's innocent.
This is true, but I think a lot of newbies would probably appreciate coming to this first and being able to see the collected wisdom -- and then deciding if they need to make a new thread for their specific case. Having something faq-like displays the fact that there's already tons of collected wisdom in the forums, whereas a highly dynamic, active forum doesn't necessarily reveal its depth to a newbie (especially when the MPA search sucks as much as it does) --
actually, maybe that should go in the faq thread, OP -- the hint to search via google instead of the internal engine.
Okay but now people can't complain about necrobumping

Not a newbie anymore, but I'm still confused asbout best etiquette on resurrecting zombie threads versus making a new one. On the one hand "necrobumping"; on the other hand, "don't make yet another thread about something." Obviously, it's not a cut/dried one rule to bind them all situation, but still.

Yes, this! That way, it can be more of the hybrid I spoke of above -- "here's the knowledge base, and here's where you can discuss and share experiences."
