Dang, I started doing this a while ago in a journal. I had no clue others were interested in doing it, as well!

S02E04 - Georgetta
Stats: Age 18. 5’8”, 108 lbs, BMI 16.5
'Week's worth of food' Tube:
Breakfast: weetabix, an apple
Lunch: small jam sandwich, kiwi, yogurt cup - or one banana
Dinner: spanish omlete - or chick pea curry over rice
Quotes:

  • "Her daily routine kicks off with a low cal fruit smoothie, the only fuel for a vigorously demanding dance class."
  • "She’ll often skip lunch. Suddenly its like 3 o clock, like, oh, I didn’t have lunch."
  • "She starts the day with just a sprinkling of cereal, then just one piece of fruit, and when she doesn’t skip lunch, one sandwich."
  • "Although she eats energy rich food like smoothies, she has tiny amounts and often skips meals."
  • After only eating a small portion of her meal, Georgetta throws in the towel. “Yeah I’m absolutely bloated I don’t think I could eat anymore, I feel quite sick.” She has a lie down to recover. “I’m feeling really sick at the moment actually, like my stomach feels really uncomfortable.”
  • Peking duck: “Its just, its horrible, look,”
  • “If I ate this sort of food, and this amount of food regularly, I doubt very much I’d be able to do any modeling”
  • “I think the modeling makes you conscious of what you eat, and I think that’s why I have always tended to eat healthily
  • Doner kebab: “God that is so disgusting how can you eat that. I will actually sick if I try that.”
  • Re her diet: “I think its very small, like not enough snacks at all, and just the type of food is quite limited
  • “I’ll make sure that when I’m at dancing, rushing around, I definitely make the time for food and make it more of a priority”

Typical skinny behaviors? Check

✔ Skips meals because she's "busy"/"rushing"/deprioritizes regimented meals/forgets or skips meals

✔ Limited types of foods tolerated, other foods are viewed as "disgusting"

✔ Feel "sick" after eating a small portion

✔ Tiny portion sizes

✔ Label their relationship with food as "just trying to eat healthy"

The four anorexia sufferers: Rachel, Rebecca, Fiona, and Elaine

The dietician encourages them to eat a brie sandwich.

Rachel: "I haven't had a sandwich in two years"..."That's more than I would easily eat in a day, it's like breaking the habit if I was skipping lunch, or just having a salad."

S02E05 - Christine

Stats: Age 21. 5’5”, 91 lbs, BMI 15

'Week's worth of food' Tube: 1000 cal/day

Breakfast: bananas. cereal (bran flakes?)
Lunch: tomatoes. fruit salad. sushi.
Dinner: fruit salad. some vegetables with rice.

Quotes:

  • Carb-phobic Christine.
  • 21 year old busy promotions girl Christine's idea of a healthy diet is a bit bananas. "On my day to work, I normally just have a banana." After a tiny lunch, she packs in yet more of the stuff. "I normally have grapes, apple, pineapple."
  • And at the end of her busy day day, Christine often skips her chance to eat a proper meal, with more fruit. "I'll just have like, a fruit salad."
  • "I'm quite keen on my five a day because it makes you feel really healthy and gives you that energy boost."
  • "I don't like cheese."
  • "Doesn't this (burger) normally come with vegetables? like broccoli, carrots, or mushrooms?"
  • "It's greasy. Doesn't look very appealing."
  • "It's really hard to eat when you're quite full." (she takes ages to eat a pub meal. swap partner martin: "It's gonna be dark soon." lmao)
  • "I need to like, eat more, like all kinds of food, and like, not be afraid to try new things, and like, don't be too fussy."
  • [Christine playing with the food on her plate] Swap partner Martin: "When Christine was messing with the food, she was really starting to annoy me."
  • "It's really hard to eat all that. I did eat half of it. I'm full already oh my god."
  • "I try to eat, like, as much as I can eat."
  • "I learned not to be so fussy with food, and there's nothing wrong with feeling full."
  • "I didn't used to eat bread. I've been snacking a lot. It is difficult - sometimes it can be quite challenging. Snacking at night can be quite hard for me because I didn't tend to snack in the evening after dinner."

Okay, so I’ve been wondering. They keep comparing the diets of skinnies to the daily intake of toddlers and/or children. But i don’t really believe that young children should have a calorific intake as high as they say it should be?

Interesting thread! Definitely following.

The childlike comments bug the fuck out of me, especially in relation to their bodies. I feel like they're only saying that because the women don't have many curves/boobs/ass, and I think that's a very fucked up message to send to people. :\

Forgiving does not erase the bitter past. A healed memory is not a deleted memory. Instead, forgiving what we can not forget creates a new way to remember. We change the memory of our past into hopes for our future.

You'd be surprised! My 7 year old son has a TDEE of approx. 1800 calories. Don't forget kids are usually pretty active all day and need tons of energy to grow.

Kids can need as much as 90+ calories per kg of body weight, depending on age and speed of growth.

So in the UK at the time 18.5 to 24.9 was considered the NHS healthy bmi, it later got reviewed and changed to start at 20.

The skinnies are gorgeous.
Also, the healthy BMI starts at 18.5, not 20. I don't know if it's the doc or the show itself but that just keeps irritating me.
