The creator of this list left MPA but let me take over since new books have been found/published.

Note: these are real (paper and glue) books. Many are available on Kindle, but I did not include any that are only available on Kindle. For a list of ebooks, see Doomsayers list here: http://www.myproana....ster-ebook-drop

I put a * next to the ones I recommend.

Enjoy!

Thanks! Just some minor name/genre tweaks:

FICTION: NOVELS & STORIES
Being Ana - Shani Raviv: this is memoir.

Deadly Diet – Camie Ford and Sunny Hale: this is memoir. It’s terrible, but it’s memoir.

Eli's Wings - Elizabeth Best: this is memoir.
Faerie - Aisha Marjara
*: author’s first name is spelled Eisha.

Far From Home - Loralie Brown: author’s first name is spelled Lorelie. (Glory hallelujah, well-done treatment of anorexia in a romance novel. In a lesbian romance, no less. I swoon.)
Good Girls Do Swallow – Rachel Oakes-Ash: this is memoir. Author’s first name is spelled Rachael.

How I Made it to Eighteen: A Mostly True Novel - Stacey White: this is very, very thinly fictionalized memoir. (Could stay in fiction -- I shelve it in memoir.)

I Was a 15-year-old Blimp - Patti Sren: author’s last name is spelled Stren.
Lighter Than My Shadow - Katie Green: this is graphic memoir. (It’s already listed in memoir. Excellent book.)
Never Drink Calories: Theories of an Anorexic - Jennifer Otto: this is memoir. (It's not good.)
Outside In - Chrissie Kieghery: author’s last name is spelled Keighery.

Pretty Bones - Aya Tzintziras: author’s last name is spelled Tsintziras.

Ribbons - Lawrence Yep: author’s first name is spelled Laurence. I actually wouldn’t consider this ED fiction; the related material amounts to a tertiary character being on a diet because she's a dancer.
Things I Never Said - Caitlyn Moore: I believe this is memoir.
When Mirrors Lie - Isaacson Bright: author’s name is spelled Isaacsen-Bright.

NON-FICTION: MEMOIRS & BIOGRAPHIES
Alice in the Looking Glass: A Mother and Daughters Experience of Anorexia - Jo Kingsley: authors are Jo Kingsley and Alice Kingsley.

Anorexia: A Stranger in the Family - Katie Metcalf: author’s last name is spelled Metcalfe.

Distorted - Lorri Antosz-Benson: the authors are Lorri Antosz Benson and Taryn Leigh Benson. (Having two authors did not make it a better book.)

Drop Dead Gorgeous- Micalela Shocklee: author’s first name is spelled Miceala.

Dying to Live: a Journey Though and Beyond Anorexia - Mandy Alllison: author’s last name is spelled Allison.
Eating Disorder Anonymous – Anonymous: maybe one for the more general nonfiction section?

Elena Vanishing - Elena Dunkle*: authors are Elena Dunkle and Clare B. Dunkle.

Empty: A Story of Anorexia - Christie Petit: author’s last name is spelled Pettit. (Book is also published under the title Starving. Both versions are dreadful.)

Feast of Famine - Joan Johnson: author’s last name is Johnston.

Good Enough to Eat - Leslea Newman: this is fiction.
A Hunger So Wide and So Deep: A Multiracial View of Women’s Eating Problems – Becky W. Thompson: I’d suggest putting this in more general nonfiction.

Hungry: A Mother and Daughter Fight Anorexia - Sheila Himmel: authors are Sheila Himmel and Lisa Himmel.

In and Out of Anorexia - Tammy Ronen: authors are Tammie Ronen and Ayelet.
Kid Rex - Laura Moison: author’s last name is spelled Moisin.

Life Hurts: A Doctors Personal Journey Through Anorexia - Dr. Running in Silence - Tachael Rose Steil: author’s first name is Rachael.

Something Spectacular: The True Story of one Rockette's Battle with Bulimia - Greta Gliessner: author’s last name is spelled Gleissner.

Stick Figure: A Diary of My Former Self - Lori Gottleib: author’s last name is spelled Gottlieb.
Starving Hearts - Lynn Ruth Miller: this is fiction (described as an autobiographical novel).
Tyranny - Lesley Fairfield*: might be autobiographical, but this is presented as fiction.

Wow, you really went through this with a fine tooth comb. Your attention to detail is impressive. :) When you mentioned wanting to make some corrections, I was thinking “ok, maybe 4 or 5” but this is downright embarrassing! I’m on mobile right now but will fix these when I get access to my computer. Thank you! :)

Hah, sorry! It's not in the least meant as criticism -- just, I've read most of the books on the list, so I knew genres/a lot of the authors, and then I had time to kill, so I ran a bunch through the Goodreads search engine to double-check some spellings. (Probably it would have been more legitimately useful to offer up some more book titles for the list, and yet...)

Anna's Hunger Games by Boyd Brent

The title is super cheesy but it was and interesting read.
There was the whole boyfriend who wants to save her thing that got my nerves.
But it takes an interesting approach to eating disorders more of the mental aspects and thoughts.
Once the whole Anna Rexia living in her head cringe is over it was an okay read.

I absolutely adore Wintergirls (it's just so poetically written!) And now I have several more books to add to my To Read list!

Also, there's a graphic novel called Tyranny that I also love in case anyone is interested
