i have had my ED for 30 years.  I was never a purger but not for lack of trying really hard.  Just don't have the gag reflex.  But I have had rumination syndrome since my early 20s (47 now).  I am assuming I will always have it but wish I could make it go away.  Kinda refreshing finding others who experience it because it is something I have always been embarrassed about.

Mine was always there, you see how babies regurgitate their milk soon after they drank it? I guess that never stopped with me, it just has evolved over the years first it was only liquids to more solid food, and then to larger portions and more frecuently.

It's just such a shame that there isn't enough research on the matter like why does this happen? and if there's some sort of treatment for it.

1 year ago. Never been able to purge until I realized " Shit, I can just chew and then spit the food and skip the whole purge part"

Earliest I can remember is elementary school age and it developed into a full-blown eating disorder at age 24 when I met my husband. Been struggling with it ever since.

Just started about a month ago and it's getting out of hand, it's making me even hungrier and it's no longer really helping with weight loss. I do it all day.

It happened sometimes throughout my life but not hectically. But then in October 2017 I figured out exactly how it works and I just went with it. Probably one of my biggest regrets.

Pretty much all my life, since about age 5 or 6. Definitely didn’t cause my ED, but was certainly a tool
