Oh wow I love this. (The new section, not pica itself lol). Pics is weird. Very odd.
Other than the chapped skin on my lips, and when I was younger my hair, and ice too I suppose it's awesome, and also blood after SH,
FLOUR!!!! Like, I've been OBSESSED with eating flour ever since I first tasted it. When I was younger, my mom used to bake sometimes and I never let that chance to get in the bag of flour go... My mom finds it really creepy.... And now I bake, so I just have more access to it. It's so weird. I never let myself eat too much, though, because it's basically just complex carbohydrates. Which right now to me is freaky. But to the pica side of my ED, flour is just.... Idk. No one else seems to think it has a taste, but I crave it. Last year I hadn't eaten too much this one day And I was up late doing hw and then I ate like half a cup by accident O.o

I've only been diagnosed with bulimia a few years ago, and may not even have this disorder..
But i tend to draw blood just to drink it.
After self harming, or biting my cheeks and lip so I can taste blood throughout the day.
Nobody really knows though.
I also tend to chew gum wrappers. ._. But that's out of fear of hunger pains and I've this theory that it will make them not happen?

Ice. I also crave the lavendar sandalwood snuggle dryer sheets, and bleach. Don't eat the latter two, but I got a snow cone maker and the shredded ice tastes like bleach smells to me.

I have a question for everyone here, and I'm only asking because I'm curious. What makes you guys crave things that arent food? I hope I'm not offending anyone but I think that it's probably really hard for people to understand and are probably really quick to judge. But I am just honestly curious.

saliva helps heal wounds, so if someone finds it natural to taste blood after getting a cut or self harming, it probably is. s/a how dogs lick their wounds.

unless your doing it really obsessively. or self harming just to taste the blood. or something.

ALSO: if you are craving ice a lot, theres a good chance you have an iron deficiency!

I used to obsessively pull out and then chew on hair, bite off and chew on my finger nails..and pieces of napkin and tissue. I did this when I was a kid and restricting (i remember just eating three crackers exactly every day for lunch and staring at the clock until lunch period was over...I was probably 7-8) And then again when I was 12 and my anorexia got bad. I turned to more ordinary things (with ED's) like gum and ice cubes.

Wondering if anyone else does this.

Lollipop sticks. After I finish the lollipop, the paper that the sticks are made of come in layers.

And I'll peel the layers of paper off one by one and eat them.

It's like a double treat. I get the lollipop and the stick. lol

YES. I do this every single time. Always have, since I was really little. I try to keep it under control now because when I'm with other people they are like "..........?" I'm so glad you said this!

My fingernails are a big one,

and I kid you not. I ate grass as a kid.

And after I SH last night, I got this overwhelming urge to lick the blood and I was like "no that's too weird" but it's comforting knowing other people do that, too.

YES! I unconsciously did this in class the other day and the people sitting next to me were looking at me like "Where did the top half of her sucker go?"

Glad there's other people!

When I was younger I had an oversized sweater, and whenever I got nervous anxiety I'd chew on the sleeves, and then one day the ends of my sleeves were just gone.

Everything was beautiful and nothing hurt.
