What are your favorite female fronted metal bands? I don’t consider band like In This Moment or Butcher Babies heavy Metal, but I don’t mind if you list them if you want. My personal favorites are Once Human, Kobra and the Lotus, Cadaveria, Xandria, Huntress, etc.

but they're ur basic 2009 metalcore

Arkona, wolves in the throne room, Amesours (the best of the three).

I prefer male vocalists so these are not my favorite bands.
My favorite metal is shoe-gaze/atmospheric black metal even though I do not get the obsession with labeling and genres. Alcest is my favorite, but that is not female fronted.

Basically melodic black metal.

I have nothing to add to this but I had no idea Wolves in the Throne Room was fronted by a female! (Don't listen to them all that much though)

Fun fact though, I'm trying to get the equipment together to record some black/death/folk/pagan (don't judge, I'm influenced by all of them) metal with my boyfriend and a couple of others (I'll be doing drums and all the unclean vocals) so one day hope my project might be somebody's favourite female fronted "band"

Mine just barely qualify as metal lol
I generally listen to hard rock just bordering on metal so
but imma go mainstream and say Pretty Reckless
tho In This Moment has been hella growing on me lately

If you're not opposed to other languages, Japan has some hella good female fronted metal/rock bands.

 

Aldious is an all female band thats a good one, though they've recently disbanded sadly.

There's Dazzle Vision, but they've also disbanded.

Show-Ya is an oldie but a goodie. They're still active, but I enjoy their older stuff more.

Doll$Boxx is pretty good, though I only like a couple of their songs and I'm a lil hesitant to describe them as metal.

If you like rock-type stuff, Scandal is good, but I wouldn't say they're metal.

I've heard Band Maid is good, but I'm not a fan personally.

If you're into cutesy shit, there's also Babymetal.

And my faves, Exist Trace. Their more recent stuff is mostly bordering on rock, but their old stuff (read: 2012 and before) is quite metal-y.

I don't know if you'll like them because they're considered metal with a "pop" twist but they're one of my favorite bands, Amaranthe, a few of my favorite sogs are "Danger Zone", "My Haven", and "GG6", they have some songs that are more on the ballad side of music, such as "Endlessly" which on some days is just what I need.
