YES.
Everything seems to revolve around food. It's a bit easier in summer/nice weather, when you can do stuff like go to the park, go to festivals, etc, but it's harder in winter when you have to do things indoors.

Long story (read my profile) but diagnosed with anorexia, depression, aspergers and OCD.
Still struggling with accepting my weight after 5/6th ip admission, but determined to get a healthy, normal relationship with food.

Although it's absolutely true, there's not much we can do to change society.
Most of the so-called food that people socialize around is toxic and over processed.
If everyone wants to make food the center piece of their day the least they should do is eat non-animal protein sources.
Always remember MEAT is MURDER!

I don't know why either, and it's extremely annoying. There are so many things to do besides eating.

I do!! I get so frustrated, It would be okay if it was say, Going out for coffee or tea or something, But 1000 calorie meals where you're too busy stuffing your face to communicate with eachother? No thanks, I'd rather go walk trails, Go shopping, Even watch a movie at home

“I wanted to be where nobody I knew could ever come.”
Pain itself can be pleasurable accidentally in so far as it is accompanied by wonder, as in stage-plays; or in so far as it recall s a beloved object to one's memory, and makes one feel one's love for the thing, whose absence gives us pain. Consequently, since love is pleasant, both pain and whatever else results from love, in so far as they remind us of our love, are pleasant. - Thomas Aquinas

Yep, in our culture (and many cultures around the globe, especially westernized ones) eating food with friends, acquaintances, family, coworkers, etc. is a "bonding occasion" cherished by most regular people. This, in my opinion, is likely because of the major food industry practically at its peak right now.

This is why you have to research places beforehand
Parks, lakes, creeks, sports, rollerskating, ice skating, hiking, skiing, waterboarding, surfing
You could take an art, music class together
You could go to a museum, rollercoaster park
These are places that don't completely focus on food and will burn calories in the meantime

So I generally like to be alone, but on the off chance I want to go out with my friends or go on a date, everyone thinks it is completely necessary to involve some sort of food. Am I the only one who gets frustrated by this??
I was just thinking about this yesterday when I was asked out last minute, followed by a panic because I already "ate", followed by being judged at the table for not eating "enough". But it's either that or don't go out.
