Yeah, I totally get it.
I'm getting closer to this guy I like, and he said we should "hang out" sometime. Unfortunately, that probably means getting lunch after school...

So happy for you! Hope he's "the one."

Ugh this is why I hate going out. Even on dates out of town, we always end up eating somewhere and sometimes I can't read the calories because Mexican restaurants don't have calories listed for some reason and I hate asking for them. That's why I like KnW or olive garden. At least you can get a salad there. Funny story, I went about 2 weeks ago and I was nervous because of all of the people and this lady asked if I was okay and needed help so I said no. Then I go to get some rice and the guy asked "you sure you don't want any meat" I almost cried....WHY DO YOU ASK A STRANGER THOSE THINGS WHEN THEY ARE CLEARLY ANXIOUS.

The food was good though!

I'd love to read your posts but it's impossible with the font you use.

My aunt literary asked me once "Why are you even coming if  you're not going to eat anything?"

Like EXCUSE ME maybe I want to spend time with my amazing family because I fucking love you guys???"

So discouraging :/

It really doesn't. On the other hand, spending a special occasion with someone who can't eat is extremely demanding.

This is my biggest problem. I want to hang with my friends and boyfriend but all they ever want to do is eat. I feel horrible always canceling, but it just causes too much anxiety to be around food.

Social gatherings of Antiquity only happened rarely and around harvest time--- fast forward to present day we are doing the same thing as our ancestors however the food is GMO and plentiful.

People and their food. It's like men are with sex.

Yes! I tend to plan things around 7pm with friends and say that I promised my fam I'd have dinner with them. If they ask to go out for something afterwards I suggest a coffee shop...and stick to coffee.

Whenever we arrange study dates w/ my uni friends, their first question is not what material we should look over or where we should meet... it's what snacks we should bring ._. how do you even focus on studying when you're surrounded by food, which basically, in itself, is a stimuli for all senses?

And yeah, generally every time they want to go out, it's for food...

THE BANE OF MY EXISTENCE

i just say i prefer to do activities (that burn calories lol) such as hikes etc. for dates and socializing.

sometimes i feel like going out actually makes me eat less food in the days leading to it because i know ill be photographed/judged/etc so it gives me more motivation to be thin.

look for the positives/silver lining haha  :P

im going to a "girls dinner" this friday night so im planning on eating like lettuce on thursday and when im there i will just shuffle food around my plate.

a good way to look like u dont have an ed is when the food comes out be like the first one to take a bite. make it really obvious like smile and put on a show lmaoooo yeppp i love food. they will all fall for it. then u just edit a video of the food youve taken for instagram for far too long and then u also get away with eating nothing else aha . put food on ur plate as well then like fein being so stuffed.

Feels. My family knows I don't eat much when we're out due to my social anxiety so I only eat a bit and purge.

Tried to recover 2019 now I’m back

Yes!! And then it gives everyone the opportunity to see you're not eating and make a big deal   People need to find something else to center their gatherings over.

I like to ask to go hiking or explore a fun trail as a group and see the horror on their faces.

I know it sucks! When my friends ask me to hang out, I suggest a coffee place so I can sip on some green tea lol. Restaurants are a no-go :(
