Does anyone else purge just because they feel full? Despite how much you ate and whether you consider it a binge or not? Like, even if it's just a bowl of oatmeal I feel full and have the intense need to purge just to make my stomach feel empty again, but then somedays it takes me eating around 1000 calories before I feel full and get that urge.

oof it takes me like 3500 calories to feel full

This is a horrible contribution to MPA, and I regret it, but not enough to abstain from posting it.

Yeah, especially since I go trough cycles of binging thousands of calories. Then restrict/fast more often and binge way less or purge normal sized meals. Suddenly I’m like, wtf I just started binging though??

Earlier today I ate 1 pancake, 2 weetabix with almond milk, 3 small cookies and drank a glass of water. I couldn’t eat all the pancakes I made and had to toss them to go purge asap because I was so full. It was pretty unsatisfying tbh, I could’ve skipped the pancakes altogether.

In a bad cycle, it can take a few thousand calories though.

i had shirataki noodles with tomato sauce. so about 50 calories.
i still purged it because the weight in my stomach felt like too much
i'm sick of this : /

I've sat in a puddle of tears after eating shirataki on a restricting day because of how full it made me feel

The weight in my stomach makes me feel like I'm gaining no matter how calorically sparse the food is :(

I try to avoid situations where I would have to eat until I'm full and not purge, but in cases such as having to go out to eat with friends/family I can usually sit with it until I can purge it in the comfort of my own bedroom. But When I'm out to eat with my s/o, I can't stand the feeling of being full around them because I feel so unattractive. Especially when I'm visiting for the weekend at their college and can't avoid going to the dining hall or to a special restaurant. I go full on face in the fucking toilet (which i absolutely hate doing). It's really situational for me.

Yes. Eating at all makes me feel uncomfortable in general, it's very difficult to distract myself from the feeling of having food in my stomach. Sometimes I can eat a small meal and feel no need to purge (not happening lately...) and sometimes I eat half a plum and feel uncomfortably full (this happened Monday evening).

Alllll the time lol. Sometimes I purge just water bc I feel too full. I have an issue with feeling full & food weight, both of which are scary, so I purge a lot if low cals and smaller meals

Yes, if I feel full the food almost just comes out. I don’t like feeling full even though it’s probably healthy to feel that way occasionally.

Sometimes when I'm in a phase of normal eating/attempted recovery I still like to just... take the top layer out? Like I didn't "binge" and I'm not looking to really "purge" I just want to un-eat the last few bites. Classy.

This is exactly what I do when I plan to keep a meal down but I end up feeling full! Get rid of a quarter or half and I feel fine! Thought it was just me..

Yup. Generally speaking, I cannot purge a small meal, it has to be a large meal or a binge. that being said, I've felt the 'need' to purge after large ish meals, even if they're not a binge, or are otherwise low calorie, because somehow, full/unconfortable feeling in the stomach has become inextricably linked with purging.

yeah i have to stop eating rice bc it ruins my life. I could eat two spoons of rice and it makes me feel so full i'd purge it. ridiculous. oatmeal is the same way.

When i used to purge almost every meal,

I would get a sick feeling and i'd need to get it up, it became a habit and i ended up leaving lessons if i was feeling full

Most of the time I purge no matter what I eat because I can't stand the feeling of anything in my stomach. Even if it's just a mouthful of water.
