Depends your lifestyle too

Easy to eat next to nothing when the most activity you do is walking from your bed to the bathroom

Also the foggy brain/ low energy kinda becomes new normal at some point

If you get sick from eating that little and you can eat more then eat more. It's a bit more complicated than "why not just eat more?" For me at least. I'm a perfectionist and a control freak. I get major anxiety if everything doesn't go exactly like I had planned. Which also applies to my eating. If I expect to see a drop on the scale and it doesn't happen I panic. If I can't eat exactly what I had planned at the right times I freak out and feel like I'm not good enough. It's not just about the calories.

that's why i high restrict and intermittent fast. it's much easier for me to fast for two days than eat 200 calories per day for those two days, and then on days where i'm not fasting, i just make sure my TDEE is over 2000 and have like 1000 cals (more or less based on TDEE). i can't low restrict for the life of me. eating tiny bits of food throughout the day just makes me want to eat more

you just described my exact problem omg!! like i have no problem doing a 3 day water fast but low restriction days always end up in a binge for me :(

im just wondering how you guys are able to eat so little everyday. like if i eat under 500 calories, ill get really sick and my body will start to reject food if i try to eat.
another question. please dont get mad at me for asking: but why? for me if i eat 250 calories ill lose they same amount of weight from eating 1000 calories.
i even lost a pound from eating 1200 calories once. so whats the point of eating like 200 calories daily?

Cuz its not about logic. Its about being shit out of mind fraid-o-food. I feel like a failure when i eat. Period. When i get bad and relapse again, cuz im sure its probably coming. I'll probably go back to the board. See. I have this super asinine corkboard i keep. And i use my pocketknife like a shawshank prisoner, and i scratch lines in it for days i go successfully without eating. And it stares at me all day in my room. So idk why you expect a logical answer. Anorexia isnt logic. Its true terror. And thats all there really is about it.
Salvation is on every street corner and you take one space or you give it.

I'm average and screwed up enough that I might just write a song that will live forever. And then it's all going to be worth it.

I don't.

Surprisingly, the most sick people are the people whom others think "eat a lot“.

I did eat half a basin of fish and tomato stew but it was low calorie and plenty nutritious. My rationale at the moment is that if it is nutritious and low cal I'll eat a lot. My daily cal limit is mostly until I feel full and I don't worry because I know with the amount of exercise I'm doing I'll prolly stay under TDEE or at.

I don't think a lot of people actually restrict extremely. It's not sustainable.

Attempting recovery....but it doesn't mean that I don't want my GWs. It's just that there's something more important than my goal weights.

Depression, but then I don't move much in bad episodes.

Sometimes I can function on very little, then others it's like I can't even form sentences lol.

I like to stay as healthy as I can be in this stage of life, so I try get as much nutrients as poss and don't go without food for too long.

It's not worth the super low restriction, it has always caused me to yo-yo.

I'm a big girl, the biggest i've ever been so i get naked and take photos of myself from all angles...and eat in front of a mirror.

Usually i'm so disgusted with myself i'll take a bite and throw the rest out the window or in a bag hidden behind other stuff.

i find the less i eat the smaller my appetite becomes and the more i eat the larger my appetite so after getting through the first few days of cravings i just don’t want much. physical hunger is nothing to me now lol, just mental can be hard.

This might be unusual/weird, but for me taking probiotics has helped me a lot when it comes to curbing my appetite and eating little without craving more.

I take saccharomyces boulardii in the evening and first thing in the morning, and lactobacillus plantarum during the day, in-between meals.

It's a psychological thing. Truth is you're right. Most lose just as much on 200 as on 1200 because the body ends up holding on to every bit of that 200 or 250 or even 500 because it's literally starving. From the 1200 it gives the body more room to relax. But for a lot off people going 1200 and up is a psychological no-no. Seriously, if I go up to 1,200 or 1,300 I start to flip out and might binge. Just can't bring myself to it atm. I used to be fine with 1500 because that was my TDEE. I can still lose weight on that actually, just very slow. But that feeling of very slow loss can be torturous or worrisome to people. Really it's all mental, not physical.

I won't lose weight eating a thousand calories, I have a thyroid disease and I have to eat less anyway. Lucky for me if I eat very little or fast I get incredibly nauseous and I can go for long periods of time without eating.

How low do you have to go for your daily caloric intake to lose?
I can't lose eating 1k either. The only way for me to lose is 500 with daily exercise and it is so slow. I lost 50 by just purging my daily 300-500 but I don't want to do that again.

I am really short so even my maintenance calorie level is very low. I have to restrict a whole lot just to lose 500g (1 pound).
And lately no matter how much I restrict I still won't lose. So yeah. It's all very strange.

ugh me too :(((

When i was younger i Had to eat, my body just wouldnt tolerate me not eating and also i hadnt had to work through extreme physical pain. So, here we are, 7 years after this shit started, and ive had one meal in 3 days, work tomorrow, and still think i wont eat because hunger is barely even pain to me anymore, even having "recovered" for a few years (with a few relapses here and there. This one feels different. More permanent.)

I do need waaaaay more sleep when im restricting/fasting now, and also, i have a harder time getting to sleep.

i guess im not recovered anymore lmao kill me
