Smoothies, blended up fruit.

Sometimes with milk. Sometimes with juice. or sometimes with water.

I would like to know your thoughts on smoothies.

Do you think that they are good for you? Do you have a favourite smoothie recipe? How often do you drink them?

Personally, I hate em. I don't drink my calories unless it's like a very good 5 cal juice mix.

I don't want to drink my calories.
But home made smoothies, without added sugar or dairy, unpasteurized, with many fruits and veggies and leafy greens, are still really healthy.
They can be great for people who struggle with getting their daily veggies and fruits in.
Like my mom, she barely eats veggies and leafy greens except I make her a delicious smoothie.
One should also note to view them as a real meal, a food, not a drink. So don't drink them additionally to your meals.
The variations are endless. So they are great if you do it right.

i love them, cause i wouldnt say they are empty calories, they are full of fibre and keep me full.

i love how i can make it with heaps of protein and not taste it etc

also im an athlete so its a nice pre-training snack to give me energy and nutrients without being super heavy or containing any fat

definitely a fear food due to sugar for me now that i struggle with binge eating but for a while i was pretty much living off of a huge batch of smoothie every day.  The bulk of it would be finely blended spinach.  I would add either a bit of avo or greek yogurt for the creamy component.  then a tiny splash of oj or milk substitute, sometimes even just water.  Might use frozen fruit if I was broke or fresh fruit and ice if I was spoiling myself.  protein powder if i felt shitty.

funny, the main reason i stopped is because i started being grossed out by having to clean the blender and being worried that i was slurping up bacteria or something haha.

I would only have a smoothie if I made it myself.

Anywhere tbh. Like the dollar store for example. They're usually 1 dollar USD. sometimes it's 10 but that's for the GOOODD ones. Welch's strawberry peach is the best I'm literally addicted.

Not a fan. Personally, I would rather eat the fruit.

I do not drink my calories, but if I were to it would probably be a smoothie or something. I don't drink juice/smoothie (or fruit for that matter) often (or ever), because I fear the high sugar content. Don't get me wrong, a cold, refreshing smoothie is good to drink on a hot summer day, but..yeah I don't drink it.

I never drink smoothies just because I prefer to eat my calories because I feel more satisfied that way. However homemade smoothies are really healthy weather its with water, juice or milk. Their good for people who don't restrict their calories or even people who struggle to get enough calories in throughout the day

I love smoothies but I don’t typically blend fruit into them, I’ll chop some up and put it on top. The 2 smoothies I make are a green smoothie: basically kale or spinach and ginger and lemon juice, mint, hemp hearts or chia seeds, ice, water. Sometimes I add stevia or, in rare occasions, half a pear or an apple.

I really like protein smoothies. I typically add maca powder, ashwaghanda powder as well, and mostly water with a splash of plant milk. They keep me really full and are so sweet and yummy with no sugar. I buy the garden of life raw sport kind with probiotics. I love blending it with frozen cauliflower (steamed then frozen) and it’s like eating ice cream

Smoothies from stores I stay away from because often they are just sugar and calorie bombs with little nutritional value. Like a green smoothie I found out is often 90% juice (and often from concentrate or pre made juices so you don’t even get fiber) and a hand full of kale. No thank you

Depends on what's in them. I make a smoothie that's raspberries, kale, and ice and that'll usually be all I eat that day. But they're a good way to get in some odd vitamins and such

I actually find them very filling, sometimes I fast all day and make one when I get home and I'm not even hungry.

I love love love smoothies. I did a green smoothie mono a while back but now I have one as a dessert here or there. My go to is a water base with organic baby spinach, cucumber, parsley, celery, and frozen strawberries. A huge glass only has about 100 calories and it's much more filling and healthy than 1/4 pint of Halo Top for example. Tastes even better with banana but that really ups the carbs and calories so not on the menu for me right now!

I drink a strawberry and banana smoothie with almond milk every day for breakfast! Try to anyway. They're a lot of effort but all healthy eating is imo. Some level of effort anyway. They're really sweet and it takes me a looong time to drink them. Alsp makes me very full.

They are absolutely great! I think the important thing is to ALWAYS have a leafy green and/or a healthy vegetable in your mix instead of only fruit. Only fruit is too much sugar, especially if you use juice as your blending liquid!
