Starting over with a new fasting log.

For each fast, I will draw a tarot card for the things I need to meditate on as I fast, because I want to change on the inside as well as the outside.

Each fast is for a different length, depending on what I intuitively decide I can/need to do.  They are mostly 0 calorie water fasts, but I may occasionally do a liquid calorie fast or some other form of fasting.

Feel free to say hi if you stop by! Let me know how your fasting is going! Or feel free to join me!

STATS:

Height: 160 cm/5'4

HW: 88.4 kg/195 lbs

CW: 72.15 kg/159 lbs  (from the start of this thread)

GW1: 66 kg/145 lbs

GW2: 59 kg/130 lbs

GW 3: 52 kg/115 lbs

UGW: 45 kg/100 lbs

For my first fast of this accountability, I will fast until I lose 5 kg, minimum.  I will go as long as I feel it is necessary.

I asked, "What is it that I need to be aware of right now? What do I need to know?  What do I need to learn?  What can I gain from this fast?"

The answer lies with The High Priestess, which is the card I drew.

The-High-Priestess.jpg

Ruling planet: The Moon

Colors: aquamarine, torquoise, sea-shades of blue, black, and white

gemstones: aquamarine, labradorite

Here is what I learned about the High Priestess:

"Once you have an idea, you also have decisions to make. The High Priestess holds scrolls of arcane information in her arms. In addition, the moon crown on her head as well as the crescent by her foot indicates her willingness to illuminate what you otherwise might not see about a job possibility, an investment, love, career, family, etc. But you need some alone time, some quiet time to meditate and reflect.

This is what the card is all about. Seated between two pillars as between two choices, the High Priestess is not about making a decision so much as holding decision-making at bay while you take time to listen to your inner voice. She wants you to gain knowledge before you act: instinctual knowledge, supernatural knowledge, secret knowledge, self-knowledge.

The High Priestess, however, goes beyond even that for those who seek more. Behind her throne is the curtain that leads to the deepest, most esoteric knowledge; the pomegranates that decorate it remind us of Persephone, who was taken down into the land of the dead, ate its fruit and became the only goddess allowed to travel to and from that strange land. The High Priestess is our guide to all that is mysterious and mystical."

It is so fitting to draw the High Priestess as the first card in this new accountability journey! I'm so excited!  I was surprised, but it makes sense. Having drawn her, I feel like I am on the right path for undertaking this accountability.  She often shows up for me. To me, she represents the Gnostic Sophia.  Why does she always show up for me?  What am I meant to learn now?  Why did she show up now, at this time?  What secrets am I to find out?

I will think upon this as I fast.  Fasting starts tomorrow morning at my morning weigh-in.

Yes, drew my first card and posted about it.  The High Priestess for my first one. :)

Thank you for the support! Yes, I will be careful.

Monday, April 6

WI: 71.7kg/158 lbs

Fasting started from 9 am, the time I stepped on the scale.

I know I planned to fast until I lose 5 kg, however, to be safe and allow some wiggle room for fluctuations, I will fast AT LEAST until I reach 65 kg.

I will post weight updates throughout the day. I'm curious to know my weight fluctuates. I've never kept track before.

And then I will learn more about The High Priestess Card, and do my meditations.

My first day has gone ok.  Cravings are bad right now, but I have more power than I think I do to get through this.

I'm thinking about American foods I miss.  Cereals. Cheerios.  I would kill for a bowl of Cheerios right now.

I'm a little drained. Tomorrow will be a rough day. I have a long work day ahead.  I plan to chill and sleep and read on Wednesday.

The High Priestess represents profound knowledge and understanding on your own needs, but it can also mean seclusion.  Perhaps I need to make peace with being isolated from people from my social anxiety. It's time to trust and develop my intuition. It's time to bring my ideas into fruition.

It can also suggest it's time to seek guidance from a wise and strong woman. Maybe the strong woman is within me.

Tuesday, April 7

WI: 71.5

Loss: -.2 kg

I can see this is going to go very slowly.  For some reason, I don't lose as much water weight as others do while fasting, but I also don't get the rebound weight gain, either.

Since February 1, I have lost 36.4 pounds!

It's Day 2, and I'm feeling pretty strong.

Here is what I've been thinking about:

It's time for some inner reflection and renewal.  I have neglected the best parts of myself for so long, because I am always so afraid of people seeing my bad parts. My social anxiety is really bad, and it forces me to retreat inside myself- not in a place of peace and wisdom, but a dark, lonely place of fear and rejection. It paralyzes me and prevents me from moving forward with my goals. Not just my weight loss goals, but my artistic goals too.  I haven't touched my piano.  I haven't worked on music.  I haven't written any poetry.  I haven't studied or researched any new topics.

It's time to reconnect with that.  Perhaps that is why I drew the High Priestess card.

It's cherry blossom season right now, and there are so many cherry blossom-flavored desserts and drinks I'm missing out on.  I hope I can reach 65 kg as soon as possible so I can have a taste!

I don't need it... I don't need it... I don't need it.

Day 3

WI: 70 kg/154.3 lbs.

SW (for this fast): 71.7kg/158.08 lbs

Loss: -1.7 kg/3.75 lbs

Today was a chill day.  Had a hair appointment, took a nap, and then took a long walk by the canal, taking in the scent of lilac, cherry blossoms, and honeysuckle.  Didn't do my meditations, but I keep seeing brilliant shades of brilliant blues and teals when I close my eyes.

I'm going to look for some thinspo-ish movie to watch now.  Day 4 is almost already here!

Friday, April 10

WI: 66.2

Loss: -5.5 kg

Yesterday, I fainted.  Never in my life of restricting and fasting, have I fainted.

I went downstairs to take out some trash and have a smoke.  I felt suddenly dizzy after the cigarette.  I had trouble going back up the stairs.  Hyperventilating, pounding heart.  I felt really hot, so I took off my coat.  I felt like I was going to vomit. I heard myself moaning, and couldn't see straight. I felt like I was dying.  Was this a heart attack? A panic attack?  God, I just wanted to get to my bed and lie down... But I couldn't walk straight.

Next thing I know, I was on the floor of my kitchen, with my roommate shaking me going, "hey, hey!"  The blackness cleared, and my roommate insisted that I should eat something.  I was too tired and confused to argue.  My roommate gave me some eggs and two sticky steamed red bean buns.

Later she told me I looked as white as a ghost and that my shirt was over my head.  I think I may have tried to take my shirt off because I was hot before I blacked out.

I'm still feeling like shit.  I tested my blood sugar this morning, and it was 82. Which is normal for most people, but not me.  It has never gotten that low in my years of testing it.

So, today I am eating and recovering.  Tomorrow I will continue to fast.  I will still continue with meditating on the High Priestess, but I will draw another card in addition.  I will only go for 48 hours.

I'm glad to see my blood sugar levels going down (without meds too, because I can only take them with food, so I wasn't taking them), but this was a bit drastic.

I think I may have been dehydrated, too.

Drew my second card...  It was the Page of Cups, which I feel complements the High Priestess nicely.  I see I am still meant to go with blues and teals, the colors of peace and tranquility, as well as the throat chakra.

I don't know too much about this card. The cup cards are water cards, and the Page combines both water and earth. He represents idealism, the inner child,  and unconscious inspiration. He is a card of creativity.

This is such a great idea. I think putting spirituality into fasting makes it a much deeper commitment but it also makes it feel so much more peaceful, meaningful and strong.
Thank you for this inspiration. I’m doing a 21 day water fast. I took out my tarot cards this morning and received some very important cards
