This is bulimia right? Maybe I broke them without realising (?). I have been purging for 2 years several times a day. The first signs of purging in my teeth I guess. Can anyone share their experiences? What happens after that?

this happened to my mom too and the dentists said it was due to the pressure she has to put on her front teeth, as she has missing teeth in the back

 

if that's not your case, then yeah i guess its bulimia

I'm really not sure as your teeth are a lovely white colour. Yellow teeth normally show enamel erosion.


I don't usually drink during purges so I can it up quickly, with less acid, but if I do drink I always drink milk to dilute the acid.

I take calcium and vitamin D supplements in the morning and use non-alcoholic mouth wash that has extra fluoride in it.

I also dap some extra toothpaste on my teeth before bed to help strengthen them.

Strengthen them from the outside and inside.

They honestly don't look ugly, but act now to slow down the chipping xx

If you can, go to the dentist. They will put some material that will mimic teeth but they will have to like sand it first.

What happens after?
- if you go the dentist they can essentially make a fake tooth in the shape of what's missing and attach it to what you have. they will want to monitor it and may scan it for further damage.
- if you don't go to the dentist and continue to the way you are doing, you could lose your whole teeth.

Please, go to a dentist as soon as you can (ik in the UK they're not working rn bc of the lockdown) and get it checked out.

thank you all for the answers. I realised that the part that chipped away was not my actual tooth. I broke that tooth when I was little and the dentist put that materia to it. I guess bulimia made it easier for the material to chip off, but I guess my real tooth is intact. I am so scared I will lose my teeth one day. I cant go to a dentist right now. Except from some sensitivity my teeth dont hurt so thats a good sign... I am not insecure about how it looks right now but I will be if it gets worse...

oh yeah then its probably that! just go to the dentist to fix it again. i dont think you will even have tell him about the bulimia.. but you may want to. I know some dentists don't judge and even tell you what toothpaste to use, but that's always a gamble.

It may be due to erosion of the enamel. I had to get crowns on my front teeth.

Update : These are my teeth today... WHAT THE HELL is happening? What should I do? Can a dentist do something to make it look even?

Yes! Go to the dentist, they will be able to put veneers on them, although its usually considered a cosmetic procedure so idk if insurance will cover it if they dont know you have bulimia.

They might be able to skip the veneers and repair it with some composite resin.  

I am terrified of my teeth fucking up and I dream about them falling out all the time.  I've noticed that my molars are starting to erode... like the pointy parts are flat on several teeth.  No damage on the front ones yet

I screwed up the bottom teeth.... they are chipped and yellow.
My front teeth are almost translucent and so fucked up.

I feel you, bulimia sucks ass.

EDIT : I went to the dentist because my teeth kept getting shorter and thinning due to the constant purging.Turned out I have several cavities as well. My dentist recommended teeth bonding and will probably do that in the summer.

My teeth are not amazing they are still very short. The dentist just shortened the longer tooth in order to be the same length as the trimmed tooth. The third pic is the pic before bulimia and the second pic is after the dentist.

I hope I can get them back to their original length with dental bonding

In case you didn't noticed the last pic is not how my teeth look today but how they used too before my bulimia. My teeth are better now but still very fragile and short. The dentist recommended dental bonding to get them back to their original length.

Has anyone had any dental cosmetic procedures to repair bulimia teeth?

I just fixed my front chipped tooth with dental bonding and let me tell you it boosted my confidence a lot. It looks natural and blends in pretty well. Stay positive your teeth will look great after it. It’s not that expensive either because it’s considered a filling.
