Calories: 2102

Macros: 184p/143c/110f

 

Yes, my TDEE was over 2700.

 

So, I decided to make some low-cal brownies and MIND BLOWN. Only 36 calories a piece and less than 2 net carbs! For the recipe, go on IG and follow @lowcalrecipes98  :D There are lots of easy low-cal recipes that are actually voluminous! I will be trying several of those recipes tomorrow.

 

My grandma ate 4 pieces and begged me for the recipe. She has dementia and swears she only ate 2, lol, but I saw her just eat one after the other and dunked them in unsweetened almond milk. Thank goodness they're low calories. Even my mom was impressed and she's picky about quality. The only change I made to the recipe was that I used gluten (yesIknowdon'tjudge) instead of regular flour to keep the carbs low. 

 

I made 4x the recipe so I could share with my family and have left-overs. I can't wait to have some tomorrow with protein fluff. Yum!

Photo dump warning

The brownies I made Friday. Recipe by the one and only @lowcalrecipes98. They were so gooey the next day! I crumbled them and put them in my protein fluff and WOW!

After a great deal of thinking, I've finally come to a conclusion.

 

First of all, my problem for the last few weeks has been difficulty eating at a deficit. I'm just so damn hungry that I end up eating at maintenance at worst or at a smaller deficit at best. This is no way to make serious progress. I'm hardly halfway to my GW, yet I can't keep this up like I did when I first started restricting. Yesterday, I ate at maintenance (1500) and was totally sedentary. I had no energy to even go for a walk. My legs didn't even hurt. I was just tired and no amount of sleep would make me feel better. I know that to remedy this, I need to eat at maintenance for a longer period of time, but I can't make no progress. I can't just waste time.

 

So here's the plan:

1. Eat at a small deficit of 250-400 calories.

2. Resistance train 5 days a week for 30 minutes.

3. Not prioritize so much walking. 10-15k steps is enough.

 

With a small deficit, I can still lose some fat (albeit, more slowly than before) and gain muscle at the same time. I need to focus on measurements and not on the scale. I want to toned and not flabby. 

 

My workout today:

Warm up - 5 min. jump rope

 

Sit-ups - 25

Push-ups - 5

Grand plié + relevé in second position - 2 sets of 8

Grand plié + relevé in fifth position - 2 sets of 8 (each set alternating which leg was front)

 

Repeat twice

 

A 5 minute Ballet Beautiful ab workout to finish.

 

Tomorrow, I'll add a glute exercise and maybe lateral raises. By the end of this week, I want to be doing this workout 3 times. 

 

Yes, I know, I'm a weakling. This was all I could do. I used to be a lot stronger than this. I will supersede that. Also, I need to get my body fat percentage tested soon. I hope I don't wake up bloated tomorrow so I can just do that already. 

 

My deficit was only 200 calories today.

Hey! don't beat yourself up about it. Slow weight loss is still weight loss and it's better than binging right??

 

Don't feel like you need to rush to get to your GW. You will eventually get there.

Calories: 1740

Macros: 145p/154c/81f

 

Exercise:

Sit-ups - 3x25

Push-ups - 3x5

 

Disc bench press - 1x20

Tricep overhang - 1x8

Bicep curls - 1x8

(All of the above using a 7.5 lb. disc)

 

A 15 min. glute workout by MadFit - I just didn't do the first 2 exercises because they were quad dominant and my quads were on fire from yesterday's grand pliés.

 

I felt really good. I wanted to do more sets of the upper body exercise using the disc but I had to go to work. 

 

I also went to get my body fat % and other stats at the InBody scale this morning. 

 

Body fat % - 23.7

Body fat mass - 27.5 lbs.

Skeletal muscle mass - 48.1

Dry lean mass - 23.8

Total body water - 64.8

 

I'm definitely not happy with my body fat percent. Even though I'm not aiming for big deficits, whenever I can, I'll try to have a bigger deficit like today. I could eat more, but I don't feel like death so this is good. After cutting down on so much restriction, I'm feeling more energetic and better overall so I'll use that to my advantage. This way, I can make some progress towards fat loss, which is my bigger goal. I think it would be doable to gain ~3 of muscle in 6 weeks and lose about 4 lbs. of fat. At 115, my body fat would be 20.4%. Much better!

 

Sounds like a plan!

PB blondie It's a variation on the brownie recipe I've been making.
An eighth of this large pan is 75 calories, 11 g protein, and 2.5 net carbs. It was very gooey and delicious.

Workout today:
Jump rope - 3 min
Donkey kicks + pulse - 3 sets of 8 per leg without rest between sets (8 donkey kicks followed by 8 pulses followed by 8 donkey kicks...)
Sit-ups - 10
Jumping jacks - 50
Lateral raises - 8 (7.5 lb. disk)
Tricep overhangs - 12 (7.5 lbs)
Bicep curls - 8 (7.5 lbs)
Single leg deadlift - 6 reps per leg (17.5 lb. dumbbell)
Teapots - 12 reps per side (32.5 lb. dumbbell)

Repeat whole workout twice. This took me 40 minutes. I would've done it 3x but I was DONE. I need to save some energy for work tonight. Yesterday was intense so I can't be too tired.

You guys are the best Your encouragement and kind comments keep me going. I find it difficult to be rational when I'm upset. I know I'll still be making progress and this time with some strength and a little bit of muscle definition :)

I ate at maintenance and didn't work out because every muscle in my body was extremely sore.

I finally started learning Dutch. I'm liking it so far. I feel like it will be easy for me because I speak German decently and there are a lot of similarities in both vocabulary and grammar.

Teapots - 12 reps per side (32.5 lb. dumbbell)

This workout took me 50 minutes not counting the break. 

 

I'm starting to feel stronger and having more energy. Hunger has been hitting me hard lately, but as long as my weight does not increase... so help me. It's weird because when I start eating more, I get hungrier after being on a deficit for a while. I think it should lower when I don't eat at a big deficit for a couple of weeks. It can't last forever. 

 

I'm finally making more progress with Dutch. My biggest problem is that a couple of years ago, I decided to learn Danish, so when I want to say something in Dutch, I spew something in a hybrid of Danish and Dutch with some German thrown in when I can't find the right word. Ugh! This better stop before I go to Belgium and make a fool of myself.

The brownies are life-changing! You should try making them :) I used to work out a lot a while ago so the muscle memory is still there *fingers crossed*

I managed to get a 700 calorie deficit today. Just wasn't very hungry. I opted for a walk instead of resistance training. 18k steps total for the day. I'm going for a bigger deficit day tomorrow because I'm feeling fat and must make fat loss progress too, lol. 18K is a lot!!! I did 11K yesterday and it took me ages :o

I got 10k at work alone. Perks of being a waitress, I guess, lol. The rest was on a 1 hour walk and doing some housework. I started out at 10k a day and worked my way up.
