What is your favorite piece? I'm obsessed with "mariage d'amour" these days, it makes me feel so peaceful and relaxed

I don't have a favourite piece, but one of my friends is a classical pianist and I love anything he plays. Always had a soft spot for Beethoven's Funeral March though

I played the violin for 7 years in a youth orchestra. I got pretty good, but not fantastic. I'm sad I didn't pursue it further but It gave me an appreciation for classical music. I love all things tchaikovsky

I'm just a girl

I love being called pretty, but I'll never believe it.

I'm not always right, but hate admitting I'm wrong.

I'm almost always smiling, but its not always real.

I can be read like an open book, but hide so much.

I work hard at things, but don't always get what I deserve

Yes!

I love Chopin mostly. My favourites are Ballade No1 in G Minor, Polonaise (Bb minor), and Fantaisie-Impromptu - I'm learning this one at the moment and oh god, it feels like a work out haha. I think it'll take me like a year:0

LOVE IT

I'm a pianist myself and Chopin is my all time favourite composer, Beethoven and Debussy and Satie and many more.

I decided at one point that Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata would be played at my funeral, then of course I had to learn the piece myself.

Currently I'm listening to lot of operas. Debussy's Claire de Lune is my go-to song when I feel anxious or can't sleep or need to calm down. Such a beautiful piece.

Oh man Fantasie Impromptu is so amazing, gives me chills and also a really bad inferiority complex lol but some day I'm gonna learn that shit

I have recently developed a favoritism for Bach's early cantatas, probably partially because they're through-composed.

  • BWV 4 "Christ lag in Todesbanden" ~ listen
  • BWV 106 "Gottes Zeit ist die allerbeste Zeit" ~ listen
  • BWV 131 "Aus der Tiefen rufe ich, Herr, zu dir" ~ listen

I love it ! I have a crush on symphonies, I just love all the instruments together.. Else I used to play oboe (poorly, but still, ppl have offered me CDs of oboe pieces) and I love the adagio by Albinoni, it's just honey for my nerves every time : (its the full concerto but its beautiful <3 )

I'm loving Urlicht from Mahler's 2 at the moment. The harmonies are beautiful and I love rich buttery alto voices.

Der Mensch liegt in größter Not. Der Mensch liegt in größter Pein. Je lieber möcht ich im Himmel sein.

I love Natalie Stutzman's colour and emotion but on some places I'd prefer the precision of Christa Ludwig.

Yes! I sing classical choral and chamber music. Some of my best friends are professional musicians, I'm not, but I study as much as I can and learn a lot from them. I also played the piano and the recorder when I was younger, but I haven't played them in a long time. I still have my instruments and take good care of them, I just rather invest my free time in improving my singing.

Bach is my favourite. For singing I very much enjoy Bach's Magnificat. I also love singing Eric Whitacre's Lux Aurumque. I absolutely loved singing Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 in D minor, Op. 125. Also Haydn's Salve Regina in G minor.

For listening my all-time favourite are Bach's Cello Suite no. 1 in G major and The Goldberg Variations. I also really like Chopin, especially his Nocturne in E-flat major, Op. 9, No. 2, and Erik Satie's Gymnopédies.

Have you heard pianist Mikhail Pletnev play Haydn's Piano Concerto No. 11 in D major? I really like his performance!

^ I like the Goldberg Variations, too! I have to be in the right mood to listen to it, though.

It's time for a bit of Joaquín Rodrigo appreciation! This is some truly cathartic, feel-good music for me:
