Anyone know of a laxative that is fast acting? I'm terribly constipated. I've taken laxatives in the evening then wake up at 5am with horrible cramps. Any of them don't make you cramp so bad?

Kind of depends on the brand you got. There's a pharmacy that sells their own brand for insanely cheap, but they give me INSANELY painful cramps. Have you tried Dulcolax? For me personally those aren't that bad. There's also powdered laxatives but I'm not sure if you can get those without a prescription. Either way, I'd stay far away from the cheap store brands.

(Then again I'm not sure if your country has store brands)

not technically a lax, but natural calm drink mix (it comes in a big tub and is raspberry-lemon flavor and a lil fizzy) is literally just magnesium which is used in most lax. put a few tablespoons in however much water you want and you can either drink it fast or sip on it all day. it's a lot more lowkey than actual pharmacy lax so it usually wont have as many side effects

There is a tea called “smooth move”. The trick is you have to let it steep for at least 30 min. DO NOT drink this tea the night before you have anything important to do socially. I was on a flight the next day and spent half the time in the washroom. Cleaned me out completely.

Drink a bottle of magnesium citrate. Clean yourself out. Works fast.

Then take a stool softer and fiber pill daily as preventative

Dulcolax pink! It’s easier on the stomach so you don’t get those weird rumbles. That combined with Miralax powder. Both are what they give colonoscopy patients so they really clean you out.

I heard aloe Vera can work as a laxative.
I’m trying to find laxatives myself to make me feel more nauseous and have less time for food,
I’m going to try aloe Vera and magnesium citrate since it may be the most natural method.

Dulcolax didn’t give me cramps, but I had diarrhoea all day so I would only use if you don’t have anywhere you need to be the next day. Also the obligatory don’t abuse stimulant laxatives, they will ruin your intestines.

A more natural alternative that works for me is eating 2 to 3 apples (with the peel) on an empty stomach. Usually I have to go within 1 hour or less, and again I would recommend staying near a toilet for at least a couple of hours.

It’s not necessarily fast but I take miralax (it off brand) at night and the next day a , soft BM. It’s wonderful. I also drink a full glass of water with it.
