I don't know about anyone else, but aside from big goals (lose x lbs, change this big behaviour), I find it helpful to plan my day so I know what i need to toward my goals on a more micro level. It is also helpful to express those plans and then follow up with them to be accountable.
E.g. For today, I am going to eat 1000 calories and no candy. (My actual goal today). I will do this by trying to keep hydrated, thinking ahead of what I will eat, logging my food as I eat so I know what I am at. I will check in here at 8 pm when my eating window closes.
You will note that I am also quite specific about my goals, and have plans for when things are difficult and to keep me on track. If you want help with goal setting, I am happy to do that too!
