I am 3 months postpartum and dreaming of being thin and feeling like it might be hopelessly impossible. I can’t bring myself to say my weight but I am at my highest and need to lose around 50 pounds (GOD I CANT BELIEVE IM THIS BIG) to be comfortable.

Has anyone successfully lost weight after pregnancy? Were you able to get near your goal weight? If so, I’m begging you to tell me how because I am completely stuck.

im pregnant with my 1st! Yay! But I've just spent this year losing about 20lbs. I went from 176.6 to 154.2 and now i know I'm going to gain. I just wish I was able to get down to 130 before getting pregnant.

Im so scared I am going to balloon. I want to be a cute thin pregnant person...not a massive one

I just hit my pre-pregnancy weight again ( I went right back after birth and then gained) and found out I'm 4 weeks+6 days. Going to go right back to what I was doing as soon as baby is born!

I had my first in October 2018. I gained 97 lbs during my pregnancy, but lost all that and then some by the time baby was a year old. I maintained that weight until March of this year when I found out I was pregnant with #2. It’s definitely possible to lose the baby weight! Just gotta stay focused and motivated and you can do it

Uh. I was 210 when leaving the hospital with my first baby and then two years later I was about 120lbs 4 months postpartum with my second child. Then I stayed around 110lbs almost until I got pregnant again this time. I wasn’t vegan at my HW and I was at my low weight, but vegan isn’t a diet and it doesn’t work as one. Actually having ethical means to say no to shitty food helped me a ton. I also breastfed for a long time which definitely does a lot. The only activity I had was chasing kids.

Currently 31 weeks and about 40 lbs up from my prepregnancy weight, so I've been thinking about this a lot. I wasnt planning to put this much weight on, but I've been on bedrest for the last 10 weeks and considering that I guess I did ok.
But I just wanted to say, a friend of mine gained 80 lbs with her first baby, and was back to being the thinnest person I know so fast after the baby came. She's had another since then and legit looks like some teenie bopper headed to a summer music festival. She says the secret to losing the baby weight while breastfeeding is to focus on the right nutrition so your body can make milk properly, that helps with the mad cravings, and when breastfeeding goes well it can burn a lot of calories. She's also very nibbly instead of doing full meals, so that kinda seems like it would help too.
Anyways, thats my plan for after this critter comes out. I've been tempted to restrict while still pg, but I really don't want to. I'm high risk for early labour, so i want my baby as strong as he can be if he comes too soon. So mama's psychosis will have to wait. Once I'm allowed out of bed and bubs is breastfeeding, hoping the urge to watch my intake comes back FULL FORCE. I weighed 20 lbs less than my high-school weight before I got preggers, and I'm longing for it.
Sorry for the long post! Good luck

Absolutely. I actually lost most of my baby weight right away. Then we moved in with my MIL. She is morbidly obese and makes the fattiest densest food. She loves "comfort" food. Sure was comfy eating it but i gained 20 pounds in 8 months! Part of it could have been thanks to PPD and prozac too. Also its so hard for me to cook, I always would eat convenient shit like ice cream while the kids sleeps. Totally switched my diet up a little over a month ago and I've lost 13.2 pounds. Your LO probably naps a lot still, try raking him/her out in the stroller when it's almost nap time. They'll get a good sleep in there and you can work some of that weight off! Also. If you can, ask for help. Everyone loves babies. Hubby or a close relative can give you some time to exercise or meal prep. I started ONLY buying low cal healthy food for myself at the grocery store so I have no excuses and ask the hubby ahead of time for some free time when he is home from work so I can lift weights and stuff. You got this! I know it's like 8000 times harder with a kid. Congrats on your new babe!!!! :)

With my first pregnancy I gained a lot of weight. Took me about a year and a half to lose it all. To be fair though, I think it only took me that long because I didnt try very hard in the beginning but I lost the last 40 pounds in 4 months and was back down to my pre pregnancy weight. Now I am pregnant with baby number 2.

So update: I had me second little boy almost 2 weeks ago and have already lost about 20 pounds. I am breastfeeding and I guess that helps you burn an extra 500-1000 calories a day.
Right now my weight is still getting lower but I am not gonna let it take me as long as it did with my first to lose the weight.
My goal right now is to get back down to 130. Then for now UGW 110.

I went from my highest weight ever (167lbs) to my lowest weight (105lbs) after my kid was born.

Breastfeeding helped. I also restricted bad which caused me to stop breastfeeding because I was worried about my milk supply. :(

I’m also used to waist training and corsets so that help with my shape (my tummy is always my problem area so having a small waist with big milky tits was nice. Lol. I’m normally small chested.)

We just found out I’m pregnant again so I’m going to try to track my weight better. Hopefully I’ll have a better answer after this kid.

This is something I think about constantly, and I keep looking into it so much and this person lost weight breastfeeding and that one gained and I’m trying not to stress too much but it’s hard! This is my first pregnancy so I have no frame of reference. One thing that sticks in my brain is that the recommended minimum for breastfeeding is 1800 calories, but I’m only 5 feet tall so surely it could be a little less?

But my grandma didn’t gain too much with any of her pregnancies, and her body bounced right back. My mom said she gained a lot, but both times she lost it easily. I don’t think either of them was dieting, exactly, and I know my brother and I were formula fed. And my friends who have kids all look great. So I wonder if I’m worrying more than I need to. If I’d been thinner when I got pregnant, I probably would be worrying less.
