So instead of buying flavoured oats, can't you just make the oatmeal with tea? Just pour cinnamon/vanilla tea over it instead of water. Can someone try this please I was planning on having grapes today so I can't make it

Yeah ofc but it could work with other flavours too maybe, like things you wouldn't normally buy (lychee, licorice, etc). Cinnamon/vanilla is just an example

Oh wait lol I actually forgot I've done this. I did it with green tea, but ig because green tea has such a nuanced flavor I couldn't taste it so it would've been more filling to have it in a separate cup. I also have tried it with flat lemon La Croix but same results. If you try a stronger flavor then it might work?

Dude, I've been thinking about trying this lol I want to try it with raspberry hibiscus or this other one called "peach detox" (it has cardamom and shit, it's so nice and spicy), I think it'll be good. XD

I was thinking I might try it with earl grey and then grate orange peel on top!

That sounds awesome, let me know how it goes! I'm lowkey doing the opposite nowadays, I used to mix protein powder into my oats but now I'm drinking it and eating the oats separately so it's higher volume and I'm good for longer after I'm done.

Okay guys I tried it with regular black tea because I couldn't find my earl grey

It was yum but I could hardly taste the tea, it was just a black tea aftertaste (brewed it for like a few seconds) but I can imagine it'd taste amazing with earl grey/cinnamon and with a one minute brew
I also put cinnamon and honey on top because it wasn't sweet at all despite putting stevia

You could also use a 0 cal sweetener like stevia or monkfruit. Or if you're looking for flavor, try pure cacao/cocoa powder because it's like 30 cals for 2 tbsp and can add a slight chocolate flavor. Plus, magnesium. Could you also mix some fruit in your oat? Even a thin honey drizzle can add flavor without as much as the flavored oatmeal types would be.

I've done this and yeah? It works? Tastes like tea? Nothing really special but you know, tea oats?

Now I want to try making over night oats with tea! Maybe letting it sit for longer would make the flavor stronger? I'm in love with oats so I'll need to try this soon ♡

I've done it with raspberry tea, it was pretty good. I boiled rolled oats in steeped tea.

I do this! I love it so much, and sometimes I make it with the chocolate Smooth Move tea.

I tried this exact thing not too long ago. I put PB on top and it was fucking PB&J oatmeal 👌

Going to try other flavours in the future for sure. I've got teabags of mulling spices for apple cider that taste really good with just hot water, I bet they'd be great in oatmeal. 🍁
