I'm getting the Nexplanon implant put in this Friday. I've tried birth control pills for quite awhile, but they made me constantly nauseous. One of the side effects of Nexplanon is weight gain and I'm pretty nervous because it would be a bit of an ordeal to get taken out. Anyone have Nexplanon? Did you gain weight? Lose? Maintain? How much?

I was so worried about this too. But I've had the implant for three months now and I've still been steadily losing weight at the same rate as before. Everyone will react differently of course and have different side effects, but I hope this eases your mind a bit. I love Nexplanon! So low maintenance lol

had it for just under 6 years. I didn't notice any difference in appetite and didn't gain any weight. I barely notice it except when I see it love under my skin lol. I personally love it! and dont be freaked out when your whole upper arm turns purple from the procedure.

I have had Nexplanon in for two years now and I love it. I didn't gain any weight from it. I have actually gradually lost about 15 pounds and am at my lowest weight. I dont think the nexplanon affected the rate of weight loss though. Weight gain or loss from it is just from someone eating more or less calories whether or not it was intentional. So if you found you had an increased appetite from it you would gain weight if you are more. This all comes down to how much you are eating, so if continue eating normally on it then there will not be weight gain.

I had Nexplanon and was on Lexapro. After around 6 months I gained 30ish lbs on Nexplanon :(. Got it removed and I'm still having a hard time losing the weight. Maybe any tips?

I've had one in twice now and I'm about to get my next one, so I've been using them for 7 years - I've never noticed any weight increase at all or it make loss harder. I find also If my weight is high enough to have a period for at least a year after I don't get as much bloating at the time of the month at all
