Didn’t Herbalife turn out to be a pyramid scheme, or was that something else?

Yep

It's an extreeeeeemely dodgy multi level marketing scam & not a good scene to be getting into

The poor buggers flogging it to friends & family (aka 'hunbots') have to buy a huge amount of stock that they then desperately try to sell

Yeah, it's an MLM. At least OP didn't buy them, but it makes me question why their cousin had them... I'd reconsider using those powders.

I know the company is sketchy, but what about the shake powder itself? I'm looking for a cheaper alternative to what Im currently using.

I strongly recommend the shakes. They're really tasty and don't have shit in them. You get a variety of flavours. If you can afford these, I'd say go for them. V. easy to customise and you can make not only shakes with them but also desserts (just add more powder per liquid).

I know it's a sketchy pyramid scheme but if you just have the shake it's not gonna be the end of your life. Just better not to play the "herbalife partner" game. Just use the damn shakes.

Both of my parents have PhDs in chemistry (my dad's a chemistry professor at a university) and before I had Herbalife we sat down and read the whole ingredients list. It all sounds very chemical, and it is lol - because all food is basically chemistry - and they said that there's nothing nasty or suspicious in there and I can have however much I want of it.

So given that it's got so much protein and all the nutrients (vitamins and all) that you need, for me it was like the best food I ever had, and wish I could go back to buying it but I don't have the equipment to make it lol and my flatmates would hate the noise of blender in the morning ^^
