Does anyone else gain a bunch of weight while on their period? Like I didn’t eat a lot and suddenly I gained almost a kg in one night

Yup. I gain weight for DAYS or even a week leading up to it. Usually 2-3 pounds. Sometimes up to 5. Same thing when I ovulate. Ugh. I basically only get two weeks out of the month where I'm a "normal" weight.

Stuck at the surface.

Not making progress.

Falling apart while I'm trying my hardest.

Yup I cannot lose even if I eat the smallest amount (I can't fast for shit).

If I'm restricting, I'll just maintain that weight and if I give in to my cravings, I gain weight rapidly which means more effort to lose that weight after my period ends.

It's really annoying bc the struggle starts a week before and the week during so I'm stuck in limbo for ~2 weeks before I see any progress. So discouraging!

That’s normal! I don’t weigh myself right before my period starts and wait like a week until I weigh myself again so I don’t freak out

Yup. Anywhere from 5+. It really sucks because my periods in the past year have been either irregular or nonexistent so I never know if it's a period coming or I just ate too much (which doesnt make sense if I literally have changed nothing). It's all just water weight and usually comes off right after it stops (if i didn't have any binges).

Yup at least 5. And I don't lose in the week before either even if I'm fasting. But day 3 or so the scale magically drops the 5lbs plus a couple of extra from the previous week.

Yeah, I have a hormonal IUD, so I don't even bleed anymore (I might get a spot or two for a few days), but I still gain 4-5lbs of water weight each month.

It's not weight gain. It's bloating.

I gain or plateau for a full two weeks before and then shoot up 3 lbs the day before/1st day not even kidding it fucking sucks.

It's all water weight but it messes with my head the entire time.

Ever since I hit my 30s it's like having two periods since ovulation hits me hard (never did before) and that is when the water weight starts each month.

Ug. :\

Yeah, several pounds and it lasts a while before and sometimes after my period. It's really disorienting and makes me feel like shit even though I know I'm not gaining real weight and I'm not eating enough to justify several pounds of gain overnight.

CW: Not Sure, around 100 pounds       New CW: 111.2 lbs.

I want to be better than I was before, I want to see bones again.

I love chest bones, ribs, thigh gaps, hip bones, collarbones, spines, thin faces and I feel so worthless not having them like I did at the end of last year.

I love this little muffin

giphy.gifI've never seen this until now but it's adorable; he does love his son.
