Just wondered if there is a perfume you dislike?

For me its Lancome's La Vie est Belle (something annoying about the cloying sweetness in it)

Also, is there someone here who like strong, old-fashioned perfumes like Boucheron for example?  :)

I dislike most sweet fruity/floral scents as perfume. Don't mind them in like, shampoo and stuff. But as perfume they just feel too unnatural to me.

I tend to like "darker" scents. But tbh I'm not well-versed in my fragrances enough to go into more detail on my preferences. I wish the English language had more specific words for smells!

Flowerbomb by Viktor & Rolf. I heard you either love it or hate it and I personally can't stand it. Miss Dior by Dior; I don't hate it, but I don't understand all the appeal for it. Same thing for the Chloé Signature fragrance. I hear so many people talk about how much they love it and to me it's the simplest thing ever.

Ariana Grande's Sweet like Candy perfume.  Out of all my perfumes, i can't stand that one.  It smells way too sweet and juvenile.  I should have known by the name

I don't like my mom's Candid Avon perfume. It smells like someone getting a perm.

Any of the cliche super floral Department Store fragrances. All of the Lancôme, Dior and Chanel fragrances just smell like eau de basic bitch

I just don’t understand the appeal of the Juicy Couture line and Prada Candy while we’re at it. Anything that sweet just prompts an eye roll from me. Also really powdery fragrances like La Vie est Belle, Idole or *cringe* Chanel No. 5, and tack on any of the current Gucci too

Here’s the novel length list of what I wear, but to be fair I work in the industry:
Good Girl - Carolina Herrera
Velvet Orchid - Tom Ford
Mon Paris (the original, Couture, Florale, and Intensement), Opium and Black Opium - Yves Saint Laurent
Sinner - KVD
Coco Mademoiselle - Chanel
Nirvana Black and Nirvana Amethyst - Elizabeth and James
Woman and Midnight Romance - Ralph Lauren
Flowerbomb - Viktor&Rolf
Donna Born in Roma - Valentino
Miss Dior (the original before those asses at Dior reformulated a couple years back) - Dior
Wanderlust - Michael Kors
2am Kiss - Derek Lam 10 Crosby
Melrose Place - Ouai

I'm in the hobby and have a pretty big collection, and lot's of samples, and the ones I dislike…it's not so much that they smell bad, but more that "they just aren't me" and don't suit the way that I feel about myself personally.

So many but the worst I bought for myself was definitely Balenciaga “B”

It has a top note of sweet pea flower and it does NOT smell good on me at all

i can't stand super powdery/floral perfume (flowerbomb, chanel no. 5 and chance, ysl mon paris, basically any celebrity perfume line). i think that it's just because i smell them so often on people and i've come to appreciate more niche scents. i hate perfume that makes you smell like you just stepped out of a department store.

also, not that it really counts as perfume but there's something about victoria's secret/bath and body works body spray... i understand that it's much more budget-friendly, but i think people always spray far too much and it's very overwhelming. it also all seems to have that cloying fruit/rubbing alcohol smell no matter what scent it is
