So if anyone has vegetarian recipes without soy please bring them my way thanks. I need them as many as possible so I can cover weeks with good meals even my meat eating boyfriend would eat without soy.

The whole thing about soy being bad, causing breast cancer, etc is a myth so I say keep enjoying your soy! I sure eat a ton of soy products because delicious.
That being said:
https://tasty.co/rec...entil-bolognese I make this one often but don't bother with the pasta and just eat the lentils because it's delicious

I think I probably never even looked into that just read some headline and thought okay but ignored it.
But tbh anything you eat in big quantities is eventually bad for you and some change is good.

Here's some information if you want:
- Mic the Vegan https://www.youtube....h?v=5_UdM0RedwI
- Nutrition Facts (Dr. Michael Greger) https://www.youtube....3lwbwjCqM7iUGqC
- His voice might get a little annoying, but the info is great!
Basically, all the BS about soy being bad was people being scared because it has phytoestrogens, something that chemically looked similar to mammalian estrogen.
The first concern people had was cancer. People were worried that it would increase risk for prostate. breast, and ovarian cancers. More research over time has shown that phytoestrogens are not active in the body like mammalian estrogen and DO NOT cause cancer in any way. In fact, soy has been shown to have protective effects against cancers, both slowing their growth and decreasing risk of getting cancers.
The second concern people had was that the phytoestrogen would give them man boobs. But again, the phytoestrogens are not active like mammalian estrogens and it takes A TON of soy to cause that, if I remember, like > 10 blocks of tofu a day!
The irony is that most of the people that continue to spread this misinformation eat a lot of dairy and dairy has mammalian estrogens which can increase risk for cancer and cause manboobs.

Thank you so much <3

I went vegetarian for a month before going vegan and felt nothing. I was absolutely SHOCKED by how much better I felt once I cut out dairy. I used to have a lot of brain fog, forgetfulness, and fatigue and that went away when I cut dairy. I think it was also pretty inflammatory for me. I have similar issues with bread, which is the more heartbreaking one to me than cheese! I get vegan cheese like 1-2x/mo. and I think partly because I have it so infrequently and partly because I know which brands to get, it is amazing when I get it! It's also been awhile since I've had the real thing, so maybe I just don't remember what it tastes like that much anymore
My periods are also a LOT less painful!

I need half a kilo of straight up tofu here in Korea everyday to manage my protein. If soy is bad for you, scratch my remains of the asphalt like next week.

I feel like that is British or European. I wonder why it hasn’t made it popular around the world?Mycoprotein (Quorn) is a great source of protein alternative to soy. It is sold in a variety of different styles e.g. mince, cubes, nuggets etc. But it may not be available in some countries.

I've had that in Finland but here in Germany I can't find it anywhere.

I had it in Germany once or twice and thought it was really, really disgusting.
That was two years ago though, so I will give it a shot again once I am back.
