Ok but it's better to have a cigarette than to b/p... Right?

I mean this is all varying degrees of *still bad for you*, isn't it? I hate to laugh because I do the same thing in my head.
But I guess that depends on if you purge so much/so hard that you could rupture your stomach, because then yeah, might have better odds with cancer.
But in all seriousness, there are whole lists of other coping mechanisms everywhere online, most of which won't kill you or severely damage your body.
For instance, next time you feel overwhelmed with stress, go somewhere private and do some jumping jacks. It derails anxiety and tires you quickly. Walks are also calming. Music is always good. You should find one of those long lists and find something that works for you that won't damage you.
Please take care of yourself, wish I could give you a little self love but these hearts are gonna have to do <3 <3 <3

oh yeah, I feel that
If I wanted to b/p I'd need a "stimulant" like a cigarette or a cup of black coffee
Had to give up caffeine (and decaf is just not the same tbh) cuz of Osteoporosis
I still smoke but I found another alternative - colouring books and listening to mind-consuming podcasts (Not about EDs, food, just a funny podcast, maybe you like crime or spooky stories)
and do that instead of smoking
When you are outside, don't take your cigs w you (but don't go to the supermarket to buy binge food)
(I'm going to quit smoking this week probably cuz I actually don't like it, you have to go out into the cold just for a few minutes smoking, meh)
What I think is even worse to do is smoke right after purging (hands up, I always did that. I sometimes just purged for the cig afterwards, it was like a high)

By the time I would get lung cancer I'd hope that lungs would be growing in a petri dish by then.

this is what happened to me lmaoI feel like you'd eventually just end up addicted to both b/ping and smoking, which is obviously worse than only being addicted to b/ping

i wouldnt replace one problem with another, but if you already smoke and find that smoking helps you, i think that's okay. neither is great though, but if you're asking, it's better to have one problem then two
