I’m so in love with this. When I first started developing bulimia I had an irl ana friend and I miss that feeling of sisterhood and togetherness.

No offense but OP is your profile accurate where it says you’re 30? If so you’re a little old for this. It’d be one thing if you were 13 but you’re an adult.


Im almost 32 and i think this is a great idea.

Considering iv been suffering from anorexia alot longer than a 12 year old, perhaps this should be an adult only braclet club.

Tbh thinking about a kid wearing something that represents suffering from a serious condition is honestly laughable.

i used to do the red string bracelet thing bc of my culture, i might get a bracelet and pass it off as that tbh

 

there's a thin, young nurse at my mom's doctor's office who wears a red bracelet with a butterfly charm on it and idk i'm still in disbelief myself. like there's no fuckin way. and i feel weird about asking about it cuz i dont wanna plant a red flag (hehe) on myself that says "EATING DISORDER!!!"

It's an ode to the original "bracelet project" color symbolism:

Although some sources say the blue-indigo-purple spectrum represents bulimia, this picture became the 'leading authority'.

I just remember my blatant 'proana' bracelet and color scheme was always blue, purple, black, and sometimes white. I've also made/sported red/black ones, too, in attempt to be a bit more "notice that these are meant to be pro ana bracelets" but being a guy, no one would suspect pro ana anything at all.


Omg the flashbacks this is giving me!!! 12 year old me actually made and wore bracelets based on this ahaha

I used to wear a red coral beaded bracelet. I don't really wear red so it had to be close but not look weird or suspicious on me. I pretty much just wore it as a reminder to myself. I'll probably do something like that again. It was a very orange red but still counts. Kinda. And more fashionable than a slap bracelet omg lol

But children do suffer and die of medical conditions, including anorexia. It's not laughable.
