I already posted today but I had to share this. My mom was putting grapeseed oil in my food weeks ago (i made sure its not happening anymore) and I was researching it today and I found out its classified as a vegetable oil, and 1 cup is nearly 2,000 calories. Holy cow. Idk how much she was putting (it was noticeable but not too much) but it was enough for me to gain 1 pound in a week.

So I guess how do y'all feel about oils? Im deathly afraid. So many calories in even 1 teaspoon. It seems like a "dirty" food (liquid???? idk) to me. And vegetable oils are so bad for you.

Number one reason I would reject a meal is oil. I never use added oil or use anything that has oil listed in the ingredients.

Probably legit is my biggest fear food.

It just sticks to me and I can’t stop hearing the fat you eat is the fat you wear 😳

Personally, I believe that vegetable oils (specifically canola, sunflower, safflower, grapeseed, corn, soy, and peanut) are extremely unhealthy, so I avoid them entirely. However, I don't have a problem with fat as a nutrient: on the contrary, "healthy fat" (as much as that term makes me cringe) has many important functions in the body, such as providing warmth, nourishing the brain, and keeping the bowels moving.

I don’t mind oil or fat (as long as they are high quality olive/coconut/butter/ghee!!!) and don’t get the fear lol a calorie is a calorie and I only use maybe a teaspoon, or I WILL massage a tablespoon into my kale before adding lemon juice for a salad but that’s just me and my undying love for healthy fats. I love butter, I truly do. I use it sparingly though. I’ll poach an egg before I fry it. Other vegetable oils (canola, sunflower, SOYBEAN, corn) β€” eurgh why. They’re just crop byproduct and only really used to fry food which is awful for you.

Oil in small amounts is okay with me (veryyyyy rarely) and even then I need that sweet sweet omega 3-6-9 ratio
