i could usually build a mini meal if the restaurant has a decent selection of side orders. usually a bunch of veggies and some form of potatoes. then i'll add a grilled chicken breast or salmon (i'll eat half portion) if they offer it a la carte. although now i'm limiting meat consumption, it's been difficult.

Soup/chili is my go to. I hate salads
Agreed, soup and water refills. Tea and coffee

I tend to just eat half of the thing I actually want. I do OMAD and I don't do well digestively with high volume, so it's easier to work higher cal foods in.

There's this "fit fare" veggie/potato skillet thing at denny's for like 300something calories and it's one of the only things I'd genuinely look forward to if I was going out to eat. But yeah, ussually soups or salads.
Omg I LOVE that skillet!!!!

Steamed veg
Or transparent soups
Salads without eggs, cheese, croutons or opaque dressing
Sashimi
Steamed chicken and broccoli
Edamame
Grilled fish tacos
Lentil salads
Steamed prawns
Ceviche
Obviously, not all at once. These are go to meals when I can't get out of eating at restaurants and I'm low restricting/fasting.

Subway salad with turkey is a big one, also salads at pita pit are like, my favorite thing ever.
When I'm somewhere I don't know the calories of, I usually get hardboiled eggs and fruit or some kind of boiled/broiled protein with steamed vegetables or a salad with as few calorically dense toppings and no dressing or fat free dressing if I'm with people
I'm literally just a mess at this point:
-
a dirty or untidy state of things or of a place
-
a situation or state of affairs that is confused or full of difficulties.
