Hey all,

Not sure if anyone knows anything/ can relate, but I've found that as my BMI drops below 16.5 my bladder strength starts decreasing.

At first it is just really urgently needing to pee, but as my weight gets lower it becomes being unable to hold in when I cough or sneeze or am busting.

I am almost too scared to leave the house now because of it and am considering adult nappies but am embarrassed to tell my partner.

I might need to start to, I generally prefer tampons over pads because I wear gstrings but if I keep having issues it may have to be regular briefs and Poise liners

Well I hope it gets better for you. Maybe consider seeing a urologist. - they could probably prescribe you something and they wouldn’t be able to make you go into treatment or anything like that.

I've had similar issues in the past, especially when going from sitting/laying to standing up. Doing kegel exercises can help, look it up on online. In the meantime, there are pads made specifically for bladder leaking. Maxi pads are for menstrual blood, and generally don't work well for urine. Actual diapers are probably a waste of money, assuming you're just leaking small amounts. I imagine that would be inconvenient, not to mention expensive.

Thank you! I think I might look into seeing a specialist for it, I have a doctors appointment booked for next Tuesday for scripts so I will talk to them about seeing someone for it :)

Yes it is only just leaking at the moment, so a full nappy might be overkill (and uncomfy). I'm going to go down to my pharmacy today to see what they have available :)

sorry to ask this, but what's your ed behaviours? i know purging can affect the vagus nerve and laxatives (although to do with your bowel movements) can affect your urinary system. have you spoken to a doctor?

That's okay to ask :)
I mainly restrict heavily, and might B/P once a week. I haven't been to my doctor about it yet because I am scared he will want to weigh me, but I have to see them in the next week for my prescriptions.

i highly second the pee pads, regular pads can't hold much liquid at all

also if you are hesitant to see a specialist or just can't for any reason using, maybe try kegel balls

i have heard they help significantly with strengthening bladder and vaginal muscles, which might help you
