starting an accountability for myself to be 30 day binge free. i’d like to never binge again but setting this small goal for myself for now. i will update every night.

good luck!! it’s rough at first but after the first week or so it does become easier. i’ve found an accountability thread / calendar / diary is an amazing way to prevent binges and it’s honestly improved everything for me. wishing the best for you <3

you've already fought off binge urges for two days. you've got this! acknowledge that you feel like binging. it sounds weird but it helps to say something like, "i feel like binging and that's okay," or "i feel out of control." listen to your body. drink some water and eat a meal or a snack that isn't going to lead to you binging. pick something bland but filling like oatmeal (depending on your opinion of oatmeal) or find an alternative for the thing you're craving. look up cravings charts.

 

if you think you can handle it, allow yourself to have a small amount of the thing you're craving. take it out of the package, put the rest away, and don't eat any of it until you've made a meal first. eat whatever you're trying not to binge on and then eat the meal. if you still feel like binging, try to distract yourself from food altogether.

 

if you slip up, don't worry about it. recovery is not linear. it happens. try again tomorrow.
