how a good chunk of them didn't actually recover, they just went from restricting type to purging type because they became addicted to exercise

"EATING MY FEAR FOODS", "FIGHTING MY ANOREXIA RULES", whatever else, type videos.

they'll sit there and like drink calories and cringe for 20 minutes and go into detail about their anorexia rules, THAT'S TOTALLY IN THE PAST, but be wincing and i honestly just think anyone watching is taking notes. while the OP is putting on the theatrics sniffling into a chicken sandwich.

this is a shitty take from me because i am proud of everyone who is taking recovery seriously, but i can't handle the constant over-positivity. the constant affirmations about their bodies, about food, about life. like, anorexia or not, my life is miserable lmfao. anorexia is not the singular thing ruining my life, and self-love on that level is not ever going to happen for me. i feel like a lot of people HAVE to lean into that part of recovery as hard as they can probably to try and convince themselves they believe it, but it just seems exhausting and disingenuous.
i don't believe anyone loves themselves that much, especially anyone who has had EDs in the past. i hope they do, i hope they can, but it doesn't seem real to me. like yes we get it, you are eating breakfast, it's a blessing or whatever, your body digests it, something something about the sky and the earth nourishing every part of your life blah blah i get it, i get it. we get it. you love life now, so loudly that you can't talk about anything else ever.
it just seems fake, idk. maybe i'm just envious.

and this is nothing against people who have found solace in that kind of recovery, i hope they continue to do so and live their lives to the fullest and i'm proud of them, i just can't do it, lol.

How some lot of them only eat junk. There's not a single green food item on the plate. If someone wants to get better, burgers, pizza and cake are not the solution.

That is not a healthy relationship with food either.

This! So many "recovered" ones instead just obsess over gaining muscle/eating "clean"/keeping their bodyfat as low as possible.

But this is true more generally across the fitness industry (inc body builders) where some are so obsessed that it's basically a socially acceptable eating disorder, without the label of "eating disorder".

I'd also be willing to bet some good money that there's more purging going on than anyone would care to admit.

There's one girl (forget her name) that presents herself as a "recovery coach" of sorts, her behaviour and mannerisms just come across as EDed and something is just off. She claims to eat way more calories than any normal person would need to eat, yet has a body with extremely low body fat. It looks like if a very underweight person literally just added some muscles on top. I don't think any healthy person would look like that, even with a lot of exercise. She doesn't have a 'normal' fit female body.

How they think having muscles automatically indicates ~health and recovery~ Iโ€™ve hung out with โ€œfitโ€ models who claim to have overcome their Eds with weight training and their eating and food rules are just as messed up as mine. Purging calories in the gym and still being hyper obsessed with logging and restricting isnโ€™t recovery. Same thing boo, you just have some muscles now.

Before and after pictures, especially with shit like "look how sick I look here, you can see my ribs" etc etc.....you can't equate sickness with a body type with something like an ED ffs

When they go from anorexia to constant binge eating, and then have the audacity to promote their obvious binging as โ€œnormal, healthy eating patterns.โ€

Constantly posting videos and pictures of you absolutely annihilating enough food to feed an army is not going to inspire anyone to recover.

Someone already said something similar but posting pictures of your previous emaciated body. This can be a trigger for people, and it shows you havenโ€™t completely recovered. Wanting to show your body checks for validation and, โ€œomg you got so sick! Iโ€™m so glad ur recovered!!!11!!โ€ Is not recovery.
