Which is probably a good thing, because my tastes are kinda niche

But if you wanna contribute your own stuff on similar themes that would be neat

Skip to 11:36 to hear a song about how unionised Aussie dock workers refused to load pig iron to be sent to Japan in the 30s because Japan was committing war crimes against the people of China, and how our deputy Prime Minister (who later became Prime Minister for 17 years and functioned as a good imperialist puppet) tried to force them to do it anyway

This song is about the protests in Paris in 1968
It basically says you can ignore whats happening, you can look away and think nothing's going to change, but you are involved in this and you can't stop us

My dad was in high school during the 68 protests and in the years that followed he went to protests against the Vietnam war (including one outside the US consulate in Toronto)

So even though this song is in another language and about another country, I feel it in my blood

... This one too, actually

My parents were also very active politically in those years and they always listened to leftist music (I'm talking about communist and even anarchist songs)

My mother even used this anarchist song as a lullaby lol

When my niece was a baby I sang her The Ballad of Ho Chi Minh as a lullaby lol

These are great songs and I haven't heard either of them before (this or the one you posted earlier)

My family has lived in English speaking countries for the last hundred years or so, but the thing is there isn't that much radical music in English, so even though two of my grandparents were communists, they didn't leave us with any good lullabies.

Most stuff I discovered when I started looking beyond English language music and finding out that actually in a whole bunch of other cultures, the folk music scene was communist and anarchist.

This song and music video is a mockery of “weekend hippies”, basically hypocrites that didnt care about civil rights and only participated in the culture because it was trendy and women would flock to them. The guitar is so incredibly greasy i love it lol. Jacques Dutronc made some pretty political music which is surprising for a chanson french pop artist. Ive been so obsessed with him lately
