I couldn’t say for sure but it might have been More Than You Can Chew by Marnelle Tokio. I was in high school at the time, so I’m sure I must have read some before that, but I can’t remember doing so

Like the 1st ED book to come out?

I’ll believe it’s ‘The Best Little Girl in the World’ by Steven Levonkron.
This book inspired Tracey Gold from Growing Pains to be anorexic.

A Spanish YA book. The author (a middle aged man) gave me creepy vibes because he romanticised the anorexic inpatients so much to the point it felt almost sexualising ? The book was supposedly inspired by his experiences as a volunteer in an ED unit so that made it even more sinister.

mine was Fat Chance by Leslea Newman and it actually had a good message at the end of the book. but that was the first one i ever picked up in like.... middle school? i still own it lmfao.

the other one was one called Distorted by Lorri Antosz Benson and Taryn Leigh Benson - this book is very intense, its in 2 POV's. the daughter and the mother. very good book tho, but holy fuck is it triggering LOL

Broke down and put myself back together again
Stared in the mirror and punched it to shatters
Collected the pieces and picked out a dagger

I've pinched my skin in between my two fingers
And wished I could cut some parts off with some scissors
