it was bad, still is actually :/ just cut most of it off. like seriously...i went from the small of my back to above shoulders, and that wasn't all the damage, that was just as much as i could handle parting with

please help a girl out if you have tips to prevent further damage (already know to avoid heat- i'm horrible with hot showers but i can't help it as anything less than scalding is freezing because IM SO COLD ALL THE TIME- but i'm committing to a shower cap now), and hopefully speed up growth if possible, so i can at least maintain this length while trimming the rest of the damage every 6-8 weeks or so until my hair is healthy again

vitamin e (as a supplement), and vitamin e oil (don't eat the oil, just put it on your hair)

also hair masks may help increase moisture and help prevent further damage

Hair masks are great - you can mix oils or use the kinds in little packets from walmart or drugstores (I used to like doo-gro(sp?) when my hair was super super long). Infrequent washing is good, keeping it physically protected might be tough at that length but good to do once it's longer. Maui Moisture conditioner is the BOMB also, I swore by that stuff. My hair was mid-thigh-length and in fantastic condition, and I totally attribute that to doing the above.

AYO I'm not ignoring y'all in PMs, it just won't work rn, I'll be back asap lol

my hair is damaged but from bleach. i often put coconut oil on my hair before i wash it and it really helps a lot. it makes hair soo soft. you can put it overnight also

OLAPLEX and use deep conditioning masks but use them all over your head including near the root if you have dry damaged hair near your roots .. I was only using them at the ends for the longest time and wondering why they were not working lmfao

also, i would recommend a gentle hair shampoo and mask that contains hydrolyzed keratin / protein. it makes your hair stronger. biotin is also good. and be very gentle when you brush your hair, from the tops upwards
