What about you? Safe food, fear food, or somewhere in between? Do you prefer other ways of getting your fats and omegas?

One of my biggest fear foods. I haven't eaten butter for over two years and I don't think I will ever be again.

Eh sometimes I try to avoid butter. I prefer to have unsalted butter usually only half a teaspoon when I do. Although, the rational part of me says that not all calories are created equal. x-x

butter is cool it def makes food taste a lot better and more flavorful than if you were to use oil. butter is a once in a while food for me fats are so good for u!! butter on toast? blueberry muffin? with strawberry jam??? ugh *chef's kiss*
too much of anything will always hurt. if ur worried abt safeness & dairy, i recommend trying earth balance vegan butter. it tastes amazing

I think it's unhealthy, I try not to use it. I try and only eat healthy food but I'm always trying to finish eating something unhealthy because I keep buying unhealthy snacks on sale.

It's only safe if I can measure the amount that will be used/eaten (but that's the same for just about any other food for me).

It freaks me out a lot less than margarine or like low-cal fake butter, especially if it's local. Plus I like it better than cooking with oil a lot of the time because I can cut it into a neat little easily measured cube and that makes my brain happy.
It also adds a lot of buttery flavour for a very tiny amount which is nice.

Fear. Even when I wasn't vegan - fear. Now, I like getting my fats from lots of avos, nuts, seeds and small amounts of olives or some high quality olive oil or avocado oil, depending on what I'm making.

A thin spread of butter on freshly baked and still warm bread is so good.
Yes butter is very kcal dense, its almost pure fat and thats 9,3kcal for a gram, it doesnt matter where i get fat from, it always has the same kcal. A thin spread or a bit in my coffee will add 40-50kcal

Butter is just high in saturated fat and dietary cholesterol which are both very bad for you, no nutrients there
