What do you think is better for weight loss? What calorie amount did you lose your most amount of weight?

I low restrict. My technical limit is 800 but i rarely eat more than 600.
Honestly though for me I don't notice that much of a difference between like 400 a day vs 700 but maybe that's just me.
High restriction is obiviously way more sustainable though.

I’ve done both & found high restrictions to be a lot more sustainable. I might lose more quickly on low but I’ll b/p more often & can’t really do much & I have a really active job/life. Im also trying to stop purging entirely. I actually got to my lw on high restriction. However if I have a day where I only eat 5-800 cals I don’t care. I just won’t freak out if I have an extra few calories two days later. Seeing calories weekly helps my mental health.

Trying medium to high, but always end up low 😓 high is better for lasting weight loss & overall health. But my brain is broken.

High is working for me, i try to hit between 1000 and 1200, plus a good amount of cardio and toning exercise. I actually hit my lowest weight since January this morning, down 9 pounds since March 10th.

I feel more safe low restricting because of the constant hunger. For some reason I binge equally as much high restricting and low restricting, so I usually just low restrict because my deficit is gonna be higher

This is where I’m at. I’ve been low restricting during the week and end up binging during the weekend when I eat with my husband. I tell myself “Self, if you eat more during the week, you’re less likely to binge on the weekends.” Other side says “Bullshit, self, you’re going to binge no matter.” While my husband and I make better choices than we used to (grilled meat and vegetables as opposed to pizza and chips) we love to eat together and maybe the physical desire to eat a lot from restriction won’t be as strong if I eat more during the week, the psychological cues are there and have always been much stronger than the physical cues.

So I keep doing what I’m doing and it seems to be working so..

My intake really really varies which I’ve always found better for me than just sticking to one or the other. I definitely lost more when I was only low restricting, but I was also fasting multiple days of the week and obsessively exercising and eventually crashed and burned and got into the worst binge/restrict cycle ever and kept gaining and losing the same lbs for awhile.

Low restriction might give you quicker results but high restriction is much more successful longterm. It keeps you out of hospital (and forced recovery/weight gain) and you will feel much better physically.

I get super bingy on less than 650 so I try to keep it around 850-1100 for myself. I don't like getting to 1100 but if it's what I need to do to control the urges than it's better than ending up eating 2200 later

High. My tdee is around 2100 and I eat in the 1000-1200 range. For me it’s more sustainable to eat a higher number of calories, even if it’s stressful.

low restriction definitley gives you faster results but high restriction is WAY more sustainable

I'm currently on a high restriction diet (around 850 - 1200 cal per day)

High, 1300-1500. Working a physically intensive job plus 2 1 hour walks a day. Helps me not faint at work and I lose steadily enough

I'm not entirely sure if this would be considered low or high, but I don't cross 800/day. Sometimes I get really close, but usually it's around 600-700.
